Only watched a minute or two but best bit by far was the chef talking about helping the grounds staff paint the white lines on the oval. Painted as "we all love each other and help out where we can" but in reality it was just SNAFL cost cutting to feather a few big wigs' nests.

The other thing is... who funded this and why? What was the point?

This is literally all they have to market

'they let us have a kick on ground once and dazza got bit by a cat'

We had some good memories at footy park, but I won't miss it and I'll be happy to see the dump knocked down. Considering we helped fund most of that swamp I think its only fair they give us one of the video screens so we can use it at Alberton Oval for Magpies games.

100% agree on all counts. I've had good memories at that ground with certain games, but Adelaide Oval is well & truly our home now.

lol I seriously had to close it after the one emotional piano note and seeing the date of a NAB cup game. I just cringed from that. I love how dinosaur they are though, they really bring the best lols nobody else brings, I mean on a worldwide scale they are among the cringiest franchises you can think of.

Found this gem on the SANFL homepage.

I, ah, look just watch for yourselves.

I wonder what game they'd have manufactured to play there had we beaten them?

My thoughts exactly. The good memories are of sitting with other Port supporters and watching my team play some great football, but nothing to do with the stadium itself, glad to see the back of it.

Did you notice all the tacky shit advertising everywhere. They were the contra deals that the SaNFl did to ambush any club sponsors, an absolute shame that Nuff nuffs fucced the model for past 17 years.

Embarrassing

Still had some money left in the promotions bucket - can't possibly re-appropriate that to say, grass roots/game development - better spend it before the end of the financial year :p

My oldest and first memory of that place is Saudi Arabia v Argentina in the bicentennial cup...
After they knock it down they should built a Panthers club for doctor feel :)

Knew pleurisy park only too bloody well, may it make a forgotten pile of rubble.

As much as I love Alberton, Adelaide Oval is something very special. The intimidating atmosphere for visiting players and supporters is like nothing else. Roll on next Saturday night against Sydney!!!!!!

The video is fine, its mostly about the people who worked behind the scenes who seem like average working people. They were not the problem
The people (Lyon aside) are fine. Just your usual day to day folks. Outside of the red / orange coats and their 80 pounds overweight inflated sense of self worth they were never the problem.

That ground though. A year after AO the feeling of watching an episode of That 70's show is overpowering. Still glad I didnt go one last time.

I wonder if the juxtaposition of the IGA 'We're open longer when you need us', followed by the lights going out was intentional, or some ironic editing by a non-fan of the SANFL.

Is anyone going *back* to aami to take some happy snaps and souvenirs? I wouldn't mind having a poke around in a deserted, desolate concrete jungle. Indiana Jones style.
