Aaron Davey vs. Leon Davis

Davey had a quite game by his standards this week with McGlynn putting on a very hard tag.

Just wondering if Davis has been tagged this year? Genuine question, not trying to be a smartarse.

As much as i like Davey and he has been very good this year. I would pick Davis over the lasy year few years he has got better and better and he is a very good player now.

He may have been, but I'd be willing to be Davey has definitely had it harder.

Swan or Pendlebury have usually gotten the hard tags at Collingwood.

I chose Davis because his more damaging overall but Davey has still been superb all year. Both would in the AA team at the moment.

Davis by a stetch. Davis has copped hard tags this year ie Rawlings. Davey had his 1st tag last week and is just a receiver. Nowhere near as damaging.

Why don't you watch a game of footy for a change? Davey has copped a hard tag for the last 3-4 weeks. Your opinion means absolutely nothing when you can't get the simple facts right.

Receiver my arse.

Would love for someone to know the amount of cheap handball receives and uncontested marks inside the D50 Davey has had. Cheap as it gets. Almost Bowden like, yet Davey has good foot skills.

There's a reason for this, and it's not cheap. Melbournes gameplan requires good skilled players, and unfortunately we dont have many at the moment. We are building it for the future, when skilled young players like Blease, Strauss, Maric, Grimes, Morton etc all gain some experience. The plan is to give it to Davey, or Green, or the best skilled players, because they always find an target. Several times this year Davey has hit a target coming out of D50, kept running, got the ball back hit another target, kept running, got the ball back and hit the target I50. He has opposition to shreds. Yes he is getting handball recieves, but only in the same manner that Ablett and the like get them. If you have a player of that calibre then you want to get the ball into their hands.

As for the poll, they're about on par. Davis has been producing for longer, so if anything I'd give the nod to him for that. But he has also been playing in a competitive team the last few years so that may have helped. Both have developed into great players now, and I dont think anyone expected either to become full fledged dangerous mids.
