Be carefull with the SANFL if you piss them off too much they may kick you out of their league altogether, then you can beg the VFL to join them on their conditions, they may charge you a $1 Million licence fee plus all your own travel costs, it may end up costing you $2-$3 million all up to set the up!

Come on, SANFL without Port are basically nothing and boring as hell, plus who could you blame all your failures on then? Problem with SANFL is that they just want to belittle Port and constantly go on about that recent debt without at all admitting what Port has given to the SANFL. No balance to the argument. That is what annoys Port people the most. If there was just a little balance it would be refreshing, but no chance of that from the SANFL administration and two or three SANFL clubs in particular. Admin, I hope this is considered behaving.

Tarps and 16.5 mill debt is all you Port haters can ever come up with which shows such an incredible lack of creativity in opposition supporters. They really need to get some new material.

I think you will find its a huge likelihood that their wont be a Port in the SANFL in years to come, don't get caught up in your own self importance the majority of SANFL supporters couldn't give a toss if you were in it or not! But that is another matter and should not be in this thread! But the fact that the SANFL has allowed the AFL clubs in its comp probably does play a part in the AO deal also which clouds the deal even further!

You keep saying the agreement will be fixed. I'll remind you again that I've said from day one it will be changed to favour the clubs more than the SANFL, so you needn't keep claiming that as exclusively yours.

No more should rightfully flow to the Afl clubs with the bigger crowds as they are the ones who deserve it & are earning it!

Likewise, they should be penalised more for lower crowds.

The agreement should be more like a rental agreement with a minor sliding scale on crowd numbers.

The incentives are all screwed up with an overly complicated agreement.

I wont argue with you on some of the SANFL's shortcomings

But if you look at the two AFL clubs shortcomings they are minor in comparison

I agree there will be some goodwill shown by the SANFL as leaks have already suggested, this but to think each club will receive an additional uplift of $5 Million each is just downright ridiculous and needs to remain on the PAP's board, the pie is only so big. If you have ever had a look at their board, there are plenty of conspiracy theories or just downright Bullshit written suggesting fraud and all sorts. If you are going to have a debate about this you may aswell discuss it here, as there are two sides to everything in life.

If you want to discuss the two major unanswered questions like

1.The Two clubs wanted a review because they weren't comfortable in signing the agreement offered at the 13th hour

2.What did the SA Government and AFL promise or offer to the SANFL to come on board what was the financial benefits guaranteed

In both of these questions I think you will find they point back to the AFL in getting the clubs to sign and the SANFL to agree, yet again no one questions their role in anything.

1. Is not a question but a statement of fact.

2. Already answered you many time - latest yesterday... Including that the Afl played a crucial role.

No doubt all parties - afl clubs, sanfl & sma should be looking to improve their operations... But this thread is about having a fair deal which allows for the right incentives to maximise the pie for all - which the current agreement doesn't facilitate.

Yeah. Lets see

No AFL clubs in the SANFL = almost certainly no commercial TV deal for the SANFL with the ABC bailing. Highest regular season SANFL rating games for the year - SANFL showdowns. Take out the AFL clubs and the average broadcast rated no better than it was on the ABC, sponsors didnt climb on to the broadcast because of the generic local clubs.

Further the SANFL was insisting on long term deals for the Crows and Port - we're talking 15 years here - before the Adelaide Oval deal was close to being signed. (August last year)

Commitment & Licence Fee

- 15 year term, reviewed annually by the SANFL

- 12 month notice period for SANFL & SANFL Clubs to terminate agreement

As for losing the first showdown, that was no disgrace. The inaugural Port side was a decent team filled with senior players. Gold Coast and GWS were full of kids, that's why they failed to win games, except against you.

I can think of a couple of more recent ones though..the humiliating Tippetgate, embarrassing jumper gate, and the oh poor crows boys can't cope with the heat or a 6 day break. That says a lot about the Crows CULTURE in my book and it's most unflattering.
