Surely he has been told that he needs to kick the footy more

kicking fir the sake of equalising the disposal ratio would be idiotic. But you would expect him to be able to get clear and kick more at semi-pro level. But if he was taking on the game ang giving to players in better positions, then he could have 0 and 42 for all I care.

No, I have been to every home game & watched Frampton's inability to know how to defend an opponent.

This is THE reason he is not playing AFL, because he is actually good with ball in hand.

Have we ever tried him as pure ruckman?

He's a lot more mobile then ROB and Stawnie.

He cant play as a forward or defender, our rucks suck so why not give him an extended run as ruck - see if he can learn.

After his game against the Bulldogs, he was exposed by the other opposition coach taking him back close to goal.

He's a lot more mobile then ROB and Stawnie.

Yeah, I mentioned this a few times as he has good skills & is mobile.

Worth a try.

He was really good up forward in the SANFL too

Think he's just a very good SANFL player who gets exposed at AFL level

Crouch should dominate in the SANFL, he is way above this level - would average 40 a game if he played the full season and win the Magarey lapping the field. He's men v boys at this level.

Cripes he had the most possessions, most tackles, most clearances and most inside 50s for the team.

That is rather absurd, really.

But I just can't have him in the middle playing with Laird in the AFL. There is still room for one hard nut who goes and gets the ball every stoppage, but two? Not unless they also have another elite trait.

I really hate it, because Matt has been one of my favourites since he came, and I really don't know what to do with him.

Surely Newchurch gets called up next week, sounds like he was all class

Is Hutchesson still on GWS list , I really rated him and was hoping we picked him up in our AFL squad . I can recall he got picked for 1 game for GWS a few years back and never heard his name after that.

Yeah yeah...
We've all had our fun with Billy the whipping boy. The criticism of him is probably fair enough.

But when I accurately describe him as a 200cm+, mobile player with excellent foot skills, and features frequently in the best players at SANFL level, you have to be REALLY sure before you show him the door.

As a trade target, I think clubs will come for Billy as they will recognise these traits and will back in their system to get out of Billy more than AFC could.

We're not famous anymore for our player development.

I also think Berg of the two big guys should go first.

other thing is Matt has been a much, much better player and servant of the club than Gibbs ever was.

Never made the AA team, won his B&F at Carlton when they came 13th, Matt won his when we led the leadgue and made the GF.

Unless Laird is injured, he doesn’t play seniors. The slow inside accumulator is a dying breed in the modern AFL. You need more dynamism rotating through the middle. It is what it is.

No, but it's a worry when he more than holds own one on one with McAsey.
