PLAYER DEVELOPMENT
Being an unused travelling emergency and not playing for a week is much more valuable for a young player than a full game in the reserves

PLAYER DEVELOPMENT (CONTINUED)
Young players must knock the door down with consistently strong performances in the reserves

CONTINUITY
Players benefit from long, unbroken stretches of football in the 22 regardless of their form or the team's performances*

*does not apply to young players. Chopping and changing with them does no harm at all and is fact encouraged

SENIOR CORE - this is the group of players who need to play every week so that the losses will be smaller and to give the younger players the chance to maybe have a win in the twos.

INJURED PLAYER - if a senior player, play them if they are a developing player rest them.
If they are a senior but you 100% know they won’t make a full game, name them as sub.
INJURY AWARENESS - player only has a slight concern & only be rested for a week... or whole season once we have really worked out what is wrong.

HANDBALLING

Do's:
  • Aim for the feet
  • Stationary players are good targets
  • Dispose backwards
  • The shorter the handball, the better
  • Take as long as possible to release the ball
  • Find the ruckman, last in the chain if possible

Don'ts:
  • Aim for the hands or chest
  • Dispose forwards
  • Deliver it to our advantage
  • Handball with speed or precision

This reminds me of that MS paint post someone did (back in the podsiadly era iirc)
