One of the many disappointing things about what Izak did is that it took away from what was actually a really interesting game of footy from a tactical perspective.

Both teams set up fairly defensively with a loose behind the ball, the Crows in particular went ultra defensive with Murphy tagging Josh Daicos.

The entire second half seemed to be a defensive stalemate as the Pies used their loose to keep the ball in their 50, and we used ours to repel those entries, and neither side was able to break that deadlock for most of the game. Yet neither side changed anything really, suggesting that both coaches were happy with the way things were going.

It will be really interesting to see if either side does something new for this game. Or will both coaches be content with rolling out the status quo and leaving it until the last 5 minutes to decide a winner?

From a Crows perspective, Murphy looks unlikely to play as he played SANFL yesterday, so we probably know that that match up will change. Unsure about the rest though.
Fly has been known to change scripts in and between finals, in 2023 we went with a very defensive rolling zone in 2 finals, lot of turnover pressure, then stoppages and centre corridor domination in the gf.

You're right it should be fascinating. Crows have changed and we have aged...changed enough? Aged too much? The burning questions.

Crows by 4 pts with last kick of the game.
dont you put that evil on me GIF

Cannot wait for this!

Expecting an intense match up with a lot of momentum shifts. I'm bias but I think we just scrap out a win, hoping our experience plays a part in the final quarter. If McCreery is healthy and we get a DeGoey performance like in round 24 then our midfield will be hard to maintain

The only thing I'm confident in is this being a close game. Winning margin will be under 2 goals.

No doubt Pies and Crows supporters will head out after the game and have a nice, civilised beer to celebrate a good game...

There’s plenty of threads discussing Rankine - take it over there.

This game is huge. Collingwood win they get a home Prelim and all that late season slump talk goes away, more time off to rest their players.

Crows on the other hand are on a 9 game winning streak, and have only lost 1 game at home for the entire year.

Loser could play Hawks and go out in straight sets.
will be about if Adelaide can hold there nerve in a huge game.
Play with the confidence they have displayed all season and they will march onwards.

If Collingwood win I think it'll be more because Adelaide capitulate.

I find it hard to see them beating Geelong or Brisbane to win it.

Umpires stranded in the middle of ground for their safety as the crowd is evacuated.
Pitch invasion. Both teams are surrounded by a hostile crowd...?

...the mob leader pulls off his mask and it's Toby Green doing the Bane monologue. He fumbles his lines, but is rescued by another masked figure, who turns out to be the AFL CEO wearing a mixed Giants Hawks guernsey.

Brett James, former Pie and Premiership Crow steps forward. He smirks and says "Dillon! You sonofa*****" and slaps him into next week.

Crows are crazy bringing Izak back at this time, going to be a massive distraction for the game.
Will have zero impact on the way this game goes, unless you think players are reading social media threads about Rankine in their free time. He was always coming home now, they’ve known this since he left. We had our last main training session today too.

A club legend and former captain is playing his 300th this week and we are in our first final for 8 years, I reckon that’ll be occupying the minds of all players 2 days out from the game.

Hopefully Tex Walker gets over his racist rants against Camp Sovereignty and immigration generally.
Your club shouldn’t be one throwing stones...
