One moment it is falling apart... the next it is all sweet??
Are the public meant to buy that?
Does it really matter?

When went home for fortnight he's Mum said you should repay the faith shown by lions and also has made couple very close friendships at the club.Did Josh Schache want to come back to Melbourne? If yes... what has happened in between?
EFALet's be salty... something smells fishy here.

The AFL definitely intervened.
Far more likely to be the players manager trying to get a big contract out of Brisbane by dangling him in front of the Victorian clubs.
Come on mate. Let's be fair, EVERYONE in the mainstream media are brainless twats.A few clubs went fishing for him. Media heard about it and concocted stories because the Vic media are brainless twats who have to keep generating headlines to feed Victorians' insatiable thirst for news about their clubs.
Schache's preference was to stay but he was struggling a little with homesickness. The club have been very supportive of him.
He was more likely than not to stay in Brisbane and the offer was reasonable for his age and experience.
So...yep...must be a conspiracy! Watch out Victorian clubs, the AFL are plotting against you!
And Hawthorn are not good....
Gnna be playing against the Tigers in the 1sts this week. Hopefully he kicks the sealerGood to see Josh Schache getting a kick in the magoos for Lions.
Let's be honest... something smells fishy here.

Spot on, what's more likely-Do you think they would bother?
It's not like he's Gary Ablett off to Geelong or Ryder off to Sydney
What's the problem with taking one scoop of vanilla and putting it in another bowl?
Spot on, what's more likely-
1) The AFL handed over a wad of cash under the table to Josh Schache.
Or
2) The media made up the "It is understood the he will be leaving" story to generate some headlines.
Still waiting for Lockett to the TigersCorrect weight.
All the plebs in here laughing it off like it wouldn't happen must have been living under a rock.
Why do they think the AFL were so dirty on the Swans after Franklin snubbed GWS, fellas?
Not saying it's why Schache signed at all, but **** me dead, we follow the most concocted sport in the world, lead by a bunch of suits who can't help but get involved at every opportunity to protect their brand and interests(read as expansion teams).
You've answered your own question. If you believe what Damien Barrett says you are an idiot the bloke knows nothing.
This was all driven by two things, an manager trying badly to drive up the value of Schache's contract (which failed) and the media he thought it was a lot more than it really was.
People need to ignore Barrett and Schache needs to find himself a new manager.
I agree that managers would be pushing the go home factor to get their client to move for a bigger dealManagers in AFL appear to be morphing into those in soccer. There's more shysters and sweet talkers on the scene, encouraging players to jump for a couple of extra $$$ - of which the agent gets a nice cut. Apparently Johannisen's manager was trying to hold the Bulldogs to ransom by telling them that he'd had big offers from other clubs. The Bulldogs stood firm and JJ signed for a reasonable sum.
Young players need good counsel before moving & I don't believe many agents are acting in players best interests.
