As far as KPF go I think I'd have:-

HF: xx Franklin XX
FF: Rough Hawkins XX

Rather than Rough and Franklin across the FF and N Riewoldt at CHF. Possibly harsh on Nick but didn't appear to me to finish the season as strongly as he started (but I'll readily admit also I didn't catch as much of the Saints as other teams).

First in the league for score involvements, first in marks, averaging most disposals of the top 10 goal kickers all while playing for the spooners. Had a few quite weeks around the middle of the year but overall he's been a model of consistency. I'd have no qualms with him getting the CHF spot as he's been the best in that specific position.

To specify, I'd have Franklin at FF, Roughead in the pocket and Riewoldt at CHF. Unfortunately Hawkins misses out, but I've said earlier it's tough competition for spots in the forward line this year.

Rance has been a good defender the last 3 seasons in a row, and was unlucky not to be in the squad of 40 last year. People saying he's only had a good half of the season are only showing that they haven't seen much of him.
He hasn't had a good second half of this year, he has had a mammoth second half of this year.

And so have Hooker, Talia and Mackenzie

You're seriously comparing Ablett to Rance?
Yes Rance has been good but Ablett was phenomenal!
Ability wise obviously not.Just the injury status of both in regards to the selection criteria.

It's not really the same. Ablett was so good in the games he played that he earned AA selection and wasn't really competing a the same level as his peers. Rance is coming from behind and while his form is comparable to the other top KPDs in the comp, it'll come down to games played being the point of difference.

More than likely.

Rance also has chaplin as a key defender and can a lot of the time play third man up which leads to him getting so many contested marks, i have never seen the other three getting third man up marks cause they're full backs

So your saying Rance gets the AA BP spot whilst the other three are competing for the FB spot? That seems a bit unfair, they all play the key backman role and should really be considered for one of 3 positions available to tall defenders in the backline.

yes but i think one of the things that people think put alex rance up there is the fact that he makes up for his not always the greatest disposal via intercept marking, which for a fullback in an AA squad should be just as irrelvant as the number of goals a fullback kicks

B: Cale Hooker - Eric Mackenzie - Nick Smith
HB: Brodie Smith - Daniel Talia - Nick Malceski
C: Dyson Heppell - Josh P. Kennedy - Jordan Lewis
HF: Robbie Gray - Nick Riewoldt - Dayne Beams
F: Luke Breust - Lance Franklin - Jarryd Roughead
R: Aaron Sandilands - Nat Fyfe - Joel Selwood
I/C: Luke Parker - Tom Rockliff - Gary Ablett - Brent Harvey

If Ballantyne had avoided getting suspended he'd probably be my next in along with Pendlebury, Jacobs and Rance.

Pendles has had a far better year than Beams. Can move Parker or Harvey to a fwd flank and Pendles to bench, Beams out.

That's rubbish, so now defenders aren't supposed to intercept the ball?:confused: Half of Rance's intercept marks would be outmarking his opponent, the other half he leaves his man to intercept. Chaplin is the one who plays loose, not Rance.

Just proving how little of Rance you actually watch. His disposal has improved dramatically and I'm sure other tigers will agree with me, you now feel sound with the ball in Rances hand. Decision making and ability to launch an attack off half back is very good now.

Leaves his man for intercept marks? He has the highest one on one win % of the leagues key defenders this season.

Hawkins is number one in the comp for contested marks, marks inside 50, and equal 2nd in the coleman. So how can he not be in the side before Roughead or Riewoldt?

Surely it would be Mackenzie before Rance? Surely?
