I am not saying he has played bad, just not AA quality this year.
You were saying he has played 2 good games and that he hasn't been in calculations all year.

He was in Matthew Lloyd's AA team for weeks on end at the start of the year, only when he started playing as a roaming flanker/wingman and not hitting the scoreboard did that change. Now he's back kicking goals.

At the moment the AA team should have 12 hawks in it.
Since they've been soaring in front of the competition in 1st place?

They are in amazing form at the moment, but let's not pretend like they were playing like this earlier in the season.

what you're really trying to say is, 'What about the eagles?? We've been awesome too!' - we will find out a lot about West Coast and indeed Richmond aswell in the next two weeks, Rich play Fremantle and Hawthorn, West Coast play Sydney and two weeks later Hawthorn. I don't find Fremantle and Sydney good enough to bear Hawthorn in the finals, West Coast and Richmond are the only two that stand a chance. If both fail miserably? **** it, just award Hawthorn all, all australian spots, the premiership and everything else, Brownlow, norm smith, etc.

Flags aren't won in April, May or June. Last time I checked, they aren't won in July either.

Mate. I cringe at all your posts

With our current ladder position, there is no way we will have 3-4 players in the side.

Wingard will be the only one
I have never said we will? I know where we are and don't need you to tell me 'mate'. Personally I don't think Gray and hombsch will make AA, wingard will be our only AA... I was going in defense of boak when people said he was absolutely no where near AA, this being said with 7 games still left in the season... I was saying that if he plays 7 blinders he could still make it, no one is a lock yet and end of season form has shown to be more important that start of season form... Likely hood of happening: very low but still, gotta stick up for the captain.

He's been a shitload better than your captain, who you somehow think is close to being AA.
Actually the only poster you've debated Boak with is me and even I didn't say he is close to AA.

All I implied was that AA selectors overrate leadership and unlike his all round game his leadership has been as good as ever. Plus I was talking about the extended squad and not the final 22.

Go back through the years and you'll see plenty of examples of leaders getting a spot in all sorts of weird and wonderful positions including your captain.

Some West Coast players will be included regardless of how many Hawks are involved.

My gripe is with the suggestion the team should feature 12 Hawks which is ******* absurd. Perhaps you could share a list of appropriate candidates with us?

Gibson, Hodge, Mitchell, Lewis, Rioli, Breust, Gunston, Lake, Smith, Stratton & Burgoyne all in the mix. Some will make the team, some the squad and some not at all.

Gunston was always in the mix and the last two weeks just reinforces his case. You can say it was 'only Carlton' but you still have to rack up the marks and kick the goals - and of course Sydney aren't easybeats.

I would say JJK/Riewoldt/Gunston could be a possible AA forward line mix.

Hodge, Mitchell, Smith should be in everyones 22 right now.

Gibson is in mine but I don't believe it's unreasonable to have his spot up for debate.

Breust, Gunston and Lewis are in my squad of 40.

Gunston and Wingard are perfect forward flankers for the AA team. Gunston is a roamer who will find a good match up and then take him deep forward, or hits up the footy coming out of Hawthorn's defence, or goes back as spare defender to cut of opposition attacks. Wingard a great one-on-one player in the forward fifty and clean and creative up the ground at stoppages.

Gunston - J Riewoldt - Wingard. That looks like a really good HF line at this stage. No resting midfielder but forwards who impact all over the field.

There is absolutely no way Boak is even close to the 40 man squad.

Wingard should be a lock and Gray will make the extended squad, and maybe the 22 (our record would be the only thing keeping him out). No one else is anywhere near it from Port.

Whats with the West Coast Eagles posters and their obsession with the AA team?

If you leave out an Eagle player that they claim is a chance to make it, you never hear the end of it LOL

The latest one is Jamie Cripps LOL... newsflash, he ain't getting anywhere near the AA team. Neither is Nic '1 mark per game' Naitanui.

Keep campaigning though fellas, its good for a laugh

Gray would make my team for sure - even on a flank - his ability to be a jet in the guts and forwards makes him so valuable

With Ablett - the most enjoyable bloke to watch play footy IMO

Oh, but Hawthorn supporters (and others) can list a lengthy number of Hawthorn players from Hawthorn for the AA team and that's okay?
Sure, they're playing top of the world atm, however, up until three weeks ago Hawthorn's output was rather mediocre.

You could argue there could be anywhere from 0 to 5 eagles players in the side

None of them are a lock and could easily miss out, on the flip there are a number having outstanding seasons who can not be summarily dismissed - including Cripps

IF and that is a big IF - Cripps is selected it would be because the AA selectors value his two way running - he is comfortably the best small forward at combining offense and defence. On offence alone he is about 8th in line.

If he misses - well it isn't exactly a shock. If he makes it (the squad or team) it wouldn't be undeserved either
