Goldy no1 ruck for me. Relatively easily now after the performance against Geelong.

Fair enough, no-one's side will be the same. Goldstein would probably be in the 40, he isn't in my side yet though. Mumford was very influential again on the weekend.

Easily, Mumford has been more influential in GWS being 3-1. I expect Goldstein to overtake him, never said otherwise. Mumford is in my side right now though.
Jacobs, Ryder, Leuenberg/Martin and Stanly v Longer, Jamar, Pyke and Smith/Nichols.

Goldy has more hit outs and possessions against better ruckmen. Factor in quality of opposition and Goldy is in front.

FB: Pittard Hurley Hodge
HB: Talia Hooker Smith
C: Hill Fyfe Lewis
HF: McCarthy Franklin Swan
FF: Shiel Kennedy Betts
R: Goldstein Selwood Sloane
INT: McDonald Rance Heppell Mundy

Forgotten some players I'm sure
Selwoods played one good game, last week. His first two weeks were very unSelwood like.
Rest of the side excellent.

The whole point of this thread is discussion of the team. Just like previous years, if you post a team expect people to pick at it.

Not picking anyone who hasn't played all three games.

FB: T.McDonald - C.Hooker - L.Spurr
HB: L.Hodge - M.Hurley - B.Smith
C: J.Lewis - J.Kennedy - D.Hannebery
HF: D.Shiel - L.Franklin - S.Hill
FF: L.Breust - T.Walker - L.Thomas
R: T.Goldstein - N.Fyfe - R.Sloane
INT: A.Sandilands - K.Jack - J.Selwood - L.Neale

Rioli been heaps better than Breust.
Do you think you could squeeze Bob Murphy onto the bench?probably for Selwood.

Goldy has to be in at this point in time. Probably the best performed player along with Fyfe so far this season. For us the only candidate so far is McDonald but there is some great competition with key backs this year. Talia, Rance, Hooker, Hurley and McPharlin are all playing amazing too. Surprisingly Lake has been massive as well.

The biggest issue I had with him was aggression - which he has improved a lot this year. He had to start knocking players over which he is now doing.
I'll be honest, haven't watched North much at all this year but this was easily his biggest flaw. 6'8 100+kgs and played like he was still on the basketball court (and not the Broady D Grade stuff I used to play). If this has been fixed, he's a hell of a player.

Just a smidgen of bias.

Rance owns CHB. Just because his team is full of pretenders, doesn't mean he's one. He played on Jesse Hogan and Chris Dawes last week and kept them to 4 goals. That's pretty good 2-1.

I seem to recall Astbury playing on Dawes..

It's not biased just because he picked somebody from the team he supports. Hurley and Hooker have been dominant so far this year as key defenders and this has been shown by the fact that they have both been in the AFLCA votes for 3 out of the 4 rounds. If the essendon best and fairest was held right now they would be leading it 1 and 2

Hooker is averaging over 20 touches, 3rd in the comp for rebound 50's, 1st for marks and 2nd for contested marks and has been named in the AFL team of the week 3 times. Chuck in the fact that he went forward and kicked the winner against the hawks he is an absolute monty.

Hurley is also averaging over 20 touches, 2nd in the comp for rebound 50's, 15th for marks. Has been named in the AFL team of the week twice.

Yourjokingright?

Hogans influence on the game was huge whilst rance was busy flopping on the ground trying to gain frees, he had no influence

Hogan destroyed him

Your first win in 17 years and you completely exaggerate everything, relax buddy, learn your footy, two goals against isn't a 'destroy job' maybe by Melbourne standards it is...

With Dawes being today's Tony Lockett and Hogan being today's Gary Ablett snr. Well done.
