That would be too freaky if it comes to pass, but given all the coincidences and omens preceding last year's granny I wouldn't be surprised.
That's just one of a series of strange coincidences between the 1910s and the 2010s as follows:

1910 Collingwood premiers, 2010 Collingwood premiers
1911 Collingwood runner-up, 2011 Collingwood runner-up
1912 Swans runner-up, 2012 Swans premiers
1913 St. Kilda make first GF after 16 years but beaten soundly by Fitzroy, 2013 Fremantle make first GF after 18 years but Hawthorn win easily
1914 Swans runner-up, 2014 Swans runner-up
1915 Carlton win successive premierships, 2015 Hawthorn win successive premierships, also Carlton premiers 1915, last 2015
1916 Fitzroy finish 4th in 4 team competition but win all their finals and the premiership; 2016 Bulldogs finish 7th but win all finals and premiership
1917 Richmond win wooden spoon, 2017 Richmond win premiership
1918 Collingwood lose grand final by 5 points to Swans, 2018 Collingwood lose grand final by 5 points to Eagles

Hasn’t happened yet, but if it’s a Richmond vs Collingwood GF this year then that’ll be the first time since 1980 that both grand finalists have come from outside the Top 2.

The 1980 GF was also between Richmond and Collingwood.
If we beat Geelong and GWS beat Brisbane both 1 and 2 will go out in straight sets and not feature in prelims. When was the last time that happened?

I'm guessing never - I think this is the first time 1 and 2 lost in the first week under a Final 8 system

It doesn't really surprise me though. Geelong and Brisbane weren't the 1st and 2nd best teams at the end of the season. Both benefited from advantageous draws.

2019 West Coast as reigning Premiers

Geelong loses second last game of the year to 2nd placed interstate side
Eagles finish with a 15-7 record
Geelong tops ladder
Surprise interstater finishes 2nd

Lose to Pies in week 2?

I think the Pies win it actually. Nonetheless so many shades of 2007.
And add to this

Eagles out in the semi finals as reigning premiers in 2007 and 2019
In their semi final against vic opponent they led at 3 qtr time by 4 points, lost by 19 in 2007, 20 in 2019.

Superstitious Richmond fans worried about Saturday's Grand Final against the Giants might be buoyed by the results in the premier state leagues over the weekend, with all premierships taken out by the big cats.

In the VFL Richmond Tigers beat Williamstown by 3 points in a thriller; the Brisbane Lions capped an unbeaten NEAFL season with a crushing win over Southport Sharks; the Glenelg Tigers ended a SANFL premiership drought by turning the tables on Port Adelaide Magpies in the Grand Final; while in the WAFL the Subiaco Lions thrashed the South Fremantle Bulldogs by a remarkable 96-points, keeping South to just 3.6-24 in fine, sunny and still weather conditions. While the WAFL senior grand final was very one-sided, the Colts curtain raiser was a thriller in which the Claremont Tigers came from behind to beat Peel Thunder.
