That would be too freaky if it comes to pass, but given all the coincidences and omens preceding last year's granny I wouldn't be surprised.
That's just one of a series of strange coincidences between the 1910s and the 2010s as follows:

1910 Collingwood premiers, 2010 Collingwood premiers
1911 Collingwood runner-up, 2011 Collingwood runner-up
1912 Swans runner-up, 2012 Swans premiers
1913 St. Kilda make first GF after 16 years but beaten soundly by Fitzroy, 2013 Fremantle make first GF after 18 years but Hawthorn win easily
1914 Swans runner-up, 2014 Swans runner-up
1915 Carlton win successive premierships, 2015 Hawthorn win successive premierships, also Carlton premiers 1915, last 2015
1916 Fitzroy finish 4th in 4 team competition but win all their finals and the premiership; 2016 Bulldogs finish 7th but win all finals and premiership
1917 Richmond win wooden spoon, 2017 Richmond win premiership
1918 Collingwood lose grand final by 5 points to Swans, 2018 Collingwood lose grand final by 5 points to Eagles

Hasn’t happened yet, but if it’s a Richmond vs Collingwood GF this year then that’ll be the first time since 1980 that both grand finalists have come from outside the Top 2.

The 1980 GF was also between Richmond and Collingwood.
If we beat Geelong and GWS beat Brisbane both 1 and 2 will go out in straight sets and not feature in prelims. When was the last time that happened?

Geelong
2007 West Coast as reigning Premiers

Geelong loses second last game of the year to 2nd placed interstate side
Eagles finish with a 15-7 record
Geelong tops the ladder
Surprise interstater finishes 2nd
WCE botch their last home game of the year ( costly percentage dropped )
Lose to the Pies in week 2
Cats win flag

2019 West Coast as reigning Premiers

Geelong loses second last game of the year to 2nd placed interstate side
Eagles finish with a 15-7 record
Geelong tops ladder
Surprise interstater finishes 2nd
WCE botch their last game of the year
Lose to Pies in week 2?
Cats win flag?

I think the Pies win it actually. Nonetheless so many shades of 2007.
And add to this

Eagles out in the semi finals as reigning premiers in 2007 and 2019
In their semi final against vic opponent they led at 3 qtr time by 4 points, lost by 19 in 2007, 20 in 2019.
