Very debateable that Anderson wont catch Fabregas. He is doing very good in his first ever season in English football, led the middle during Scholes absence. Give it 12 months and once he hits the back of the net, he wont stop. He is a better all-around player and can adapt to most of the positions in midfield. Going to be something special for us. :thumbsu:

Did anyone see his run into the box today vs Portsmouth. Simply spectacular. If that was one inch closer it would of been goal of the year by a mile. I cant get over how good he is, A footballing god

I just saw it and you've got to be kidding! His touch was good and all but Portsmouth's defending was hilarious - that one dude practically didn't move while he let Anderson come running at him from 10 meters away and let him still pass him.

Okay, here's how I see it.

At the moment, Ronaldo is easily the #1 player in the EPL (probably in the world), Cesc is in second place, but both he and Ronaldo have been in the EPL for 3 or 4 seasons now, and they know what to expect.

It's debateable whether or not Anderson is #3 in the EPL, I don't think he is, however, his first season has been fantastic, stepping into the central midfield of the Champions when one of their all time greats (Scholes) got injured and playing very, very well shows what he has to offer.

I think Anderson is closer to Cesc than Cesc is to Ronaldo, and I think in a season or two, Anderson will go past Cesc.

haha, what about the defending on Messi's 'goal' last season?

as bad as it gets.

excellent post.

everything you stated is correct.

Anderson obviously isn't 3# at present but in terms of talent he's probably 2# already.

Sharp work there djibril.
I would put drogba at 3 after c-ron at 1 and cesc at 2 but thats just me..
Nippy you have gone missing in fantasy game whats the story?

Quite debatable as to who is #3 atm, Drogba's injury lay-off hurt him, as have Lampard's and Terry's, depending on what you're looking at, attacking players or defensive players, perhaps even a goal keeper...

In my opinion, #1 and #2 are so far ahead of the rest it's quite absurd really for arguably the best league in the world... However, the gap between #1 and #2 is quite substantial as well...

Was waiting for you to get sucked into this thread.

I'm sure I posted here ages ago. Just my message of common sense and realism appears to have been lost on some of our posters. Que sera. ;)

There is no dbout that has real genuine star quality about him.. Better than Cesc in a years time I am not so sure. Everyone rates Cesc, but maybe not enough. The kid is all class.

I like Anderson, but come on, he's not even a regular in our side yet.

He will be, but not now.

Reminds me a bit of a younger Fabregas; does everything well except score. Whether he can add that to his game as Fabregas has remains to be seen.

Anderson is a better player than the much senior Elano right now.

That's how good he is.

imo;

Ronaldo
Ferdinand
Rooney
Anderson
Evra
Tevez

Are Manchester United's best six players, in order. I know it's a pointless things to do but in terms of quality and importance in their respective positions, that's how I see things.

When it comes to abilty, he's fighting for second (at the moment) with Rooney.

He's tremendously talented. And his form has been beyond excellent.

He should be starting every game (on form and talent) but unnecessarily like he did with Ronaldo (which hurt the team at that time imo) Ferguson is being cautious and resting him where he can. There's no way Scholes, Hargreaves or Carrick should be starting ahead of him.

And if you were to give me the choice of Elano or Anderson starting for my team tommorow, I'd take Anderson every single time.

He plays at a quicker pace, more extravagant, more likely to break open a tight game, ability to effortlessly beat his man, plays like he has the ball on a string, deceptively strong, seems to be a player capable of performing in the big one's.

And then there's the age gap....

I wouldn't take Anderson ahead of Fabregas to play for my team tommorow but if given the choice of signing one of the two now, I'd take Anderson.

He's just one of those ridiculously talented, very rare limited edition footballers.

As we'll see in the coming years, he's the closest thing the Premiership has to Messi.

He might not be better but those long, winding runs and impossible copperfield like escapes from impossible areas/situations will become a thing of beauty all fans will come to love.

Fabregas is more straight forward and conventional with his brilliance. Even Ronaldo is to a degree.

Anderson.... just special.

And to the poster above, he is better than Scholes.

A better defensive player (already),
quicker,
versatile,
far better going forward,
not as calm on the ball but that becomes irrelevant because he has the ability with his ridiculous pace and ability to create space from nowhere to pick out passes from angles nearing space. he's so hard to dispossess and he presents far more strengths for defenders to worry about than Scholes does, or ever has.
Scholes has been brilliant but Anderson has far more talent than Scholes ever has.
And like most, don't overrate Scholes output last season. A few Manchester United players were carried by Ronaldo's brilliance (to a degree) and their performances season long were overrated for that reason.

Infact, Manchester United should be fitting in Anderson all the time.

For Champions League games, he's a must.

If you're insistent on playing the ridiculously boring Scholes-'Hargo' combination then play Anderson on the left. It's not like Ryan Giggs is actually good anymore/does anything.
