Very dissapointing for the young guy. Lets just hope he makes a full recovery.

You guys should be thinking about who you are going to mature age rookie that might give you something this year. Whoever you rookie can be elevated as of round 1 and play a whole season. Perhaps a defender like Coad to help you fill some defensive gaps?

I don't follow the Crows much, but Otten was one of the guys I kept an ear out for. I too know what it's like to have a kid that promises sooo much has an injury and ruines a season (1AW, and pls dont't give me any Walker sucks replies ).

Hope he has a speedy recovers so he can take on Carltons young midfielders in 2011.

I am a Whitefriars boy a year above Andy and played school footy with him and still mates with him. flipping shattered he absolutely dominated last year I will flick something up hear as soon as I hear word from one of the boys a bit closer to him my best mates brother is Andy's best mate so shouldn't take too long!

If one of your young guys can stand up and own the spot however when Andy comes back next year it will be a bonus. Sounds like ACL i did mine in a pre season game this year and that cracking noise means all over...plus if he couldn't put weight on it and it was painful its going to be more than medial or meniscus.

Know a guy who went with the new surgery and it worked but I would guess that considering Andy looks like being a 200 game player and loves Adelaide that would put the time into getting it right with no risks.

That's exaggerating it a bit. Yes he's a good player, but Adelaide isn't a one man team. We've got the talent to cover him and still be a top 4 proposition next year.

Bad luck for Andy. Great player. You guys will be fine for finals. Definately top four side even without Otten. Give Talia a run back there. He is a great rebounding defender, similar to Otten.

As far as the team goes, yes we'll survive, albeit weaker than we would have been.

But for Otten himself, this is terrible, and for us fans who love Otten it's awful news too.

Never heard of the 6 month recon. Heard of the 3(think Malceski and Prismal IIRC) and the 12 month(everyone else), here's hoping we can do the 3 month version.

Prismall was a 9 monther.

Bad luck for the kid, hopefully he'll grow from this experience.

Forgetting the obvious lameness of the situation, it is nice to hear that.

And they'll do it right, no questions - there is no way Craig would risk a player like Otten whose so young; not just because he wont want to risk Otten not recovering fully, but Craigy doesn't strike me as the type who would even consider doing something not in the best interests of a player.

Losing Andy will hurt us, but it's not catastrophic. SMcK or Davis should be able to play the defensive role with reasonable success (or Stevens), but obviously it would've been excellent to see Otten pushing into the middle and seeing how much of an impact he could have.
