Ah its business as usual for Collingwood. Back to back sellouts coming up this week when we play Carlton. We will be the first team to average over 80,000 for three consecutive weeks. Clearly this is evidence that Collingwood is returning to their number one position in terms of crowds................Actually Dan verify that stat for me as im sure your bombers must have done this before seeing you are such a big drawing club....

If you go by what Alf has said, 60 000 patrons of the Anzac Day crowd were Essendon supporters. So I'm sorry you can't count that game(at least in the way you wanted to).

Ok so if 60,000 Essendon supporters were the anzac day that leaves 3,000 Carlton supporters when Essendon played Carlton. i WAS there anzac day and the crowd was 50:50 with neutral supporters there for the event.........if they didnt presell the game they would have got another 10,000 people. I totally disagee with preselling matches

I was only joking about the 60 000 Bomber supporter reference, JLC. It's just something that Alf Andrews had said.

I think there were more Essendon supporters there (since it was an Bombers home game) but not by much.

I think you have a brain somewhere JLC but winning games is the point to it all.
Make a Banner that says Buck's finals game. Doesn't need a big banner.

no wonder your club has had little recent success, On field success is the important thing , not the crowd sizes which is what the collingwod fans go on about

JLC,

Essendon has never averaged over 80,000 for three consecutive non-finals matches.

Then again, we have never played consecutive MCG games against Richmond, Collingwood and Carlton either.

I suppose you're just going to ignore the fact that you play the three other big drawing teams in successive weeks?

By the way, Essendon and Carlton average nearly 74,000 in home and away matches since 1995, so stop going on about this 63,000 thing.

Last year Collingwood and Carlton couldn't fill Optus Oval. In 1999, you played TWO matches against Richmond with both failing to get 50,000. The average crowd for Carl vs Coll since 1995, is not mch different to the 74,000 that Essendon vs Carlton average in that time.

Why don't you acknowledge that the reason Collingwood has played in front of these big crowds is a combination of their big following plus the followings of Richmond, Essendon and Carlton. You couldn't get those crowds by yourself. You've only got the 3 big crowds because of the opposition suporters.

Have a look at round 2. You played an interstate team at Colonial and got 26,000. We also played an interstate team at Colonial the next day and got 35,000. Care to explain that one JLC?

Hey Dan im thinking you are a garbologist as you have a strong affiliation with garbage and you seem to keep recylcing it. This year you could have played the big three in a row but you only got 63,000 against Carlton. You would not have prduced a sell out. The facts are we have produced back to back sellouts. You are the reigning premiers yet cannot produce that ??

Wait till the roles are reversed, im tipping minimum 60,000 for any Collingwood game at the MCG. You think you have seen our supporter base but we have only touched the tip of the iceberg.

Now moving on to Easty and his rubbish that he spouted about you only need onfield success. That was spoken like a 15 year old Easty with no Knowledge. Hawthorn dominated the competition in the eighties playing in the 83,84,85,86,87,88,89 Grand finals. Yet they were in merger talks ?? Kangaroos won two premierships in the nineties and have made the finals regularly yet are in trouble. The Bulldogs have also been regulars in the finals lately yet are in trouble. Therefore i believe the supporters are the heart beat of the club. Players come and go Easty but the supporters are a constant. Class dismissed Easty.....

w***er Hill this topic was just stating that Collingwood are having back to back sellouts.
Last year we sold out Colonial against the dogs. We sold out the SCG last year. We sold out collingwood carlton as well. Wait till we become successful there will be no stopping us
