To think in just under 48 hours we'll be rid of the Richmond menace.
I've woken up equal measures nervous and excited, plus it's sunny and spring-like. This is what it's all about. Time for a long walk with the neighbour's dogs......hmm.....then what......dunno......but it's gunna be a long 36 hours for us all. Go Pies!

You’re a good man Neil.

Bullshit, I thought it first. He just got me with the time difference :(
Bulltruth.

(Only makes real sense if you watched season 6 Orange Is the New Black)

I haven't seen Fas at training for weeks. He is either injured or disengaged from the process because he has informed the club of his intention to move on. he didn't turn up to training after the VFL loss for example when every other senior player who was involved was in attendance. Even Flynn Appleby was walking laps and doing slow run throughs with Darcy Moore (and Wills) who at that stage was a long way off playing. Moore looked great in training yesterday and, with another week under his belt, should be available for the GF I would expect.

Very disappointing
Cant blame him though
Wish the pies gave him more of an opportunity this year

The Pies gave him plenty of opportunities across eight years to improve the defensive flaws in his game. It’s not like these criticisms sprung up overnight. He didn’t or couldn’t do what was required of him and now he’s locked out by more talented players achieving what he couldn’t.

If it wasn't for Alcohol-drugs-cigarettes-gambling and slutty women i wouldn't have any bad habits.

As the great George Best said....I spent a lot of my money on booze birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered.

So glad to see Tarks has got manners
I always use my please and thank you’s.

Except for when I’m talking to the help... er I mean moderators.

Nail

Whack

Fasolo does have talent, has at (some) times X factor but overall just a good medium player with deficiencies that he just hasn’t overcome.

Make no mistake if he always kicked goals and always defended appropriately he’d always be playing.

For me the biggest issue with Faz's game is that he is too slow to play forward. He could have been a gun inside mid if he had have done the work and built a midfield tank.

I don’t. The forward line has functioned beautifully without him. If we were impotent in the scoring dept then I’d agree, but with Thomas, Stephenson, JDG, WHE and Mihocek all averaging between 1.5-2 goals a game this year, he really hasn’t been missed.

Huge 24 hours coming up for our boys. Hell, it's a huge 24 hours for all of us. I was feeling confident all week but the pre game nerves are kicking in and I'm not even playing.:eek::eek:

I agree on the midfield bit, but I don’t think he was too slow be an effective forward.

A forward needs to be able to create seperation - be it by genuine pace, a powerful first 5 metres, body work, or reading the play a split second quicker.

Fas was capable enough on a couple of those points, but imo was just a little lazy and lacked the work ethic to get his engine to the level required for repeat efforts to overcome his lack of straight line pace. His physical limitations were no different to a guy who kicked 97 goals in 1990 really, although always unfair to compare to the second coming of Christ.

Good call. Stevie J probably wasn't any quicker either. Faz was bloody talented, but to me not freakish enough to compensate for his limitations. I'd love to see him do the work, build a tank and become the gun that he was born to be. I'll cheer him, even if he ends up at Essendon or Carlton.

He was a small forward who played like he was a tall forward. He wasn’t a prolific crumber who snapped goals. He did have periods where his defensive chasing was good, but equal parts lazy.

I would’ve thought if De Goey got injured he would be a good replacement to play the same role at full forward

I'm thinking the latter. The last I saw him at training was more than two weeks ago. The one after the VFL loss, while the boys were training, I did see him. Casual clothes on the outside of the gates with a coffee talking to some trainers/staff for quite a while. He I think went inside... otherwise, I have not seen him at all. I do think he is basically checked out of the club at this point.

Or the club has named a train on group of players and he wasn’t part of it

Wish Faz all the best, he certainly had skill but a lack of pace and defensive smarts along with a few serious injuries clearly hurt his career in the end.
