Australia has a clear and distinct culture.

Defined by excellence, larrinkinsim, outdoorsness, layaboutism and mateship. We share a lot of British traits being a part of the Commonwealth and former British colony but morphed into a way representative of our people and our environment. We lack the posh and pomp of England in favour of a relaxed attitude necessary for the heat and isolation. We are notoriously good humoured and laughable. You meet an Australian anywhere in the world and they will be more laid back and funny than the European or US counterparts. We are a symbol of excellence. Despite our small population we continually excel in Sport, science and economics. We are a culture of heroes - Don Bradman, Kathy Freeman, Ian Thorpe. While yes other places do have beaches, it is the most ingrained in our culture. Not some place for beach bars, tourists or a place you spend a weekend in the summer, we are connected with the coast, so much so that we have the most developed coastline metropolitan in the world, we walk to it barefoot and grab a coffee overlooking it. I could go on.

There are even negatives to our culture. We are an overly humble people, who (to our detriment) criticise those who succeed or break away from the pack. The '"tall poppy" syndrome is a clearly defining characteristic of Australian culture uniquely seen endemically in our society.

There is a clear and distinct Australian culture.. and it's people like you, with your self hatred that you transplant onto Auatralia currently driving this country and its culture into the dirt.
