Who said anything about hate? Unless using statistically evidence is hate then I'll accept I miss informed. Bollinger took a wicket that test, Hussey missed a sitter and the rest is history. It was a bad test for Bollinger, it was a bad test for Siddle and it was a bad test for Australia.
Bollinger shouldn't have to mend any fences because he didn't do anything wrong, he didn't give up, he didn't say I'm mentally weak when the big show is on, he said he hit a wall in tough conditions and couldn't do better than what he was. Besides bowling his arse off in the shield match prior to and during the training sessions to actually make the side, I don't even find that to be an excuse, it was honesty.
74 wickets in 22 tests? Nathan Hauritz should be in front of him by a country mile, let alone Bollinger.
I agree about Bollinger. He has somehow shot himself in the foot without having done much wrong. For example, he hasn't gone to Lords and embarrassed every Australian fan, not to mention his teammates, like MJ and he hasn't come out and said that he can't handle the pressure of big series either. He also hasn't bowled at his own toes in a match like Hilfy did.
I really wish Copeland had taken more wickets, I was so hoping he would. That might have stood him a chance in the selectors' eyes but I see no chance for him or Butterworth which is a great shame as at least 2 of whatever seam bowlers we start with will give away too many runs. Those 2 being Siddle and MJ probably. Definitely MJ anyway.
I have learnt something interesting about this tour anyhow. Mitchell Marsh can bowl and obviously bowls a fair bit actually at the stumps as he gets people out lbw and bowled and he hardly bowls any wides or no-balls. At 19, that sounds like a real and unexpected bonus, because I wouldn't have had him in the 4-day outfit. His batting in the long format has been for the birds though. I reckon he's got Watson's problem of being an LBW candidate from the limited amount of time I've seen him bat.
