Surely they won't drop Marsh for a game in Perth.

Just what we need...Watson gets runs against the might of Afghanistan....only to fail against the decent teams. Get rid of him NOW!

Personally I'd be giving Faulkner a bit longer, there is no rush. That might work in Marsh's favour, the longer Watsons form continues the harder it will be to keep him in.

I'd love to see both Watson and Marsh make runs and give the selectors some hard decisions.

I'm not banking on Watson ever coming good anyway, he is well and truely past it. I'd play Faulkner as a batsman against Afganistan give him some match practice.

Could we (somehow) push Faulkner further up the order? Afghanistan and Scotland are really the only time we could trial it.

Don't think Faulkner has the game to bat higher up than 7.

They are batting Marsh at 7, so it's a natural swap for him and Faulks. There's no need to change anything apart from that, well, Cummins too maybe.
Dropping Marsh at the WACA isn't a smart move. Particularly when he's performing well.

Well, they aren't dropping Watson, I'm pretty sure of that. Faulks usually bats at 7 and bowls a fair number of overs so Marsh would be the player to go.

He's bat as high as 5th for Tas & the Stars. It's not like he could do worse than our mid order last game

The bloke has a gran total of ZERO FC hundreds. I rate him but he aint a top 6 bat!

I wouldn't put him top 6 usually for Aus, but if we get to 40+ overs and he's not in yet, I say put him in next just to get some match fitness.

I'd bat him at 4 in this game as frankly it is Afghanistan. I'd also bat Marsh or Maxwello perhaps Clarke at 3. They need some time in the middle.

Let's hope we win the toss and get the chance to bat first, otherwise we may not need to go past Finch and Warner!

I hope the rest of the bowlers pull their finger out and stop leaving it all to Starc too!

Cummings injured might mean replacing in squad needed. Sadly Pattinson injured too that would have been ideal replacement. Benhrendorff and Harris out injured too. Coulter-Nile another option but probably Bird or Sandhu would get the call up if needed.

Sadhu EASILY, although I'd rather Cummins be fit and replace Hazelwood.

If Faulkner is fit next game (after tomorrow)...

Warner
Finch
Clarke
Smith
Marsh
Maxwell
Faulkner
Haddin
Johnson
Starc
Haze/Cummins
Looks so much better without watson, So much more stable. Still only 4 specialist bats though should be a little concerning and the way Johnson is batting atm, Starc should be ahead of him.
