Sledges don't really work if they are friendly and within some accepted parameters.

My point was there are lines, you can't say whatever you want to get under someones skin these days, you can't racially vilify someone and call it a sledge like you used to be able to, can't pick on mental health, someones religion etc.

Sounds like what has happened here is Bags has come in with some sort of sledge about Lambs dad that wasn't about what happened, been told my dad is dead stop it and thought beauty I got this campaigner now and kept up with that same line

I would be inclined/hope to believe that Baguley did not know the history and that once informed (either by teammates or Carlton players) he went straight to Lamb to apolagise.

I think its hard to accuse him of doing this intentionally - as its hard to know whether he would have known about this.
(Its also hard to know what was actual said, and whether it would've crossed the line if said to the average player - if so then there should be consequences).

If it was a sledge that is otherwise deemed acceptable by AFL players, just not in this case, then maybe Baguley should arrange to meet up with Lamb and sincerely apolagise and then look at doing appropriate/relevant community service - and maybe ask Lamb for suggestions or service he might be involved with given his background. (Say with children/youth support services).
