Went down to the cricket today and 'Gee.. Being in Bay 11 was a blast. Luckily enough to be involved in a pretty hectic beer cup snake as well as plenty of people getting kicked out. People were getting kicked out for counting down from 10 to 1 for the Mexican Wave. Complete disgrace. Great atmosphere down at the WACA though.

It was pretty mad hey PB?!?!?

Yep i went on friday, and saw the same thing

Blokes getting kicked out for chanting "UMAR" when he was on the boundry. All in good fun, but clearly the fun police think otherwise

that's pathetic. did he smile or anything when they said that. what's wrong with what they said

I was further around near the big screen - the crowd there was doing the "Freeeeeoooooo" chant to Rao when he was fielding near the boundary there... "Raaaaaaooooooo". It was pretty funny (although I am not one to really find it all that amusing when drunken yobs abuse guys who are playing for their country) - and the poor guy was copping a fair bit of stick in general. Everyone went off when he bowled that no ball at the end, not just because the Aussies won, but because it was Raaaaaaooooooo that bowled it. :D He didn't quite know how to take it. Salman Butt and Umar Akmal, on the other hand, gave the crowd a wave and smile, which was good on their parts. :thumbsu:

The WACA security is an abomination. How about focusing on the real threats instead of playing tough guy against the people having a bit of innocuous fun. Disgrace.

So it was you lot who started the "boom boom boom let me hear ya say Rao... Rao" chant that lasted about a minute?

I especially liked it when that Paki guy got assaulted on the field.

What is it with Perth people? You're all scum, the lot of you.

Has been for years. Ever since the security and events went from being done internally to outsourced to Skilled, it's been a disaster.

Used to get supervisors and things that had never ever set foot in the stadium. Especially worrying when you've been working there for years. And it's not the first serious breach at the WACA. Used to work out the back of the players changerooms before it got all changed around.

The public got into the player's private vehicles and team buses when they were leaving one year without any security presence. The response, "Players don't need security in that situation."

No Bay 13...

Certainly isn't. I was at the Friday match at the WACA, I've just moved over to Perth from Melbourne. I was a couple of bays across, was discussing with my mate how tame the bogans appeared to be compared to the likes of bay 13 at the G...
