All wishfull thinking on trying to combine different eras.

Mine was the 1990 and 2010 sides.

But i think 2023 and hopefully onwards are better then both 90 and 10 sides.

But i think the 2024 side will be the best collingwood side ever

If they win it so do I. 2023 that is.
Can see them winning another.

Done this before, but I always have to do 2 teams, One that I'd love to watch and one that I'd pick against anybody else to play for my life.

Love to see play

Davis, Pert, Clement

Shaw, Moore, Morwood

Wright, Buckley, Greening

Williams, Cloke, Carman

Daicos, A.Rocca, Elliott

Moore, McGuane, W. Richardson

Pendlebury, Swan, Thomas, G. Shepherd.

Emerg: Dunne

Coach: Bob Rose

Play for my life

Playing for my life I'd have Mihocek replace Cloke any day. Imagine Rocca & Checkers in the forward line

I like your pick of Leon Davis in defence. He was so much better down back than up forward. Not as mercurial but much bigger and more consistent output as a defender. And became a specialist at kick-ins, before it was really a thing. Hardly ever missed a target in that role.

Yep, it is pretty tough to do. I was born in 70, so some of the 70s stars were waning when I started watching.

P.Daicos was my first true Collingwood hero in 1979.

You wouldn’t have Buckley play for your life?

From '94:

FB Clement - D Moore - Burns
HB Maynard - Reid - Howe
CT D Thomas - N Buckley - Sidebottom
HF De Goey - T.Cloke - A.Didak
FF G Brown - S.Rocca - Davis
RK Grundy - Swan - S.Pendlebury

INT A. Rocca - N.Daicos - Licuria - Crisp

I picked each player based on their peak period, or best two or three seasons. That's why Sav, Reid, Thomas and Grundy all made my team. Would like 2011 Krakouer in the forward pocket but his peak wasn't long enough. Best overall careers would be a different team.

Hard to leave out Paul Williams and especially Heath Shaw but their best seasons were probably with other clubs.

Lot of people leaving T. Shaw out. Find that surprising.

Was about to post the same.

He gets a mention in some of the above best teams, but how anyone could leave out the captain who led us out of the wilderness in 1990, with the biggest heart, and played 300 games while he was at it - amazes me.

Sp many good players but if you haven't got Carmen and Greening in then you've missed out on something special.
Yes agree. Carman and Greening.
Must haves although my eras of watching is why many have not picked them.

But you have to leave out Swan, Bucks or Pendles! Who would you replace? And I'm a huge Tony Shaw fan.

Extremely hard to pick a side as we had so many great players.

Tony Shaw was a bull
Captain
300 or so games.
Inside midfielder that was a high possession getter.
Lost count of how many times he had his nose broken.
Probably our best runner alongside Graham Wright.
GPS numbers off the charts.
Tough and always delivered.
Superstar, Legend.
