Mizza has some big picks coming up... big holes in his lineup, i'm sure he will pull a rabbit out of the hat ;)

this is definately the speed hump end of the draft... flew thru them the other day.

Yeh, the last 24 hours or so has been veeeery slow on the drafting front. It is soooooo loooong until my next pick, and I bet it comes on the weekend sometime when I am offline for much longer periods.

Re: BigFooty Fantasy Football League

Mike Nolan has said he wants to limit Frank Gore's carries to fewer than 300. Last season, Gore carried 312 times, which is a franchise record. He also made it through a season without a significant injury for the first time since his senior year of high school.

With Gore signed through 2011, it only seems reasonable that the 49ers would want to limit his touches. But Nolan mentioned this week that Gore could touch the ball 20 to 25 times a game.

"I'm going for quality, not quantity, so we'll see," Nolan said
Federal authorities have taken control of the dogfighting investigation at a Virginia property owned by Falcons quarterback Michael Vick and the state prosecutor said it is likely that Vick has been targeted for charges.

The perils of timing for snaring a reliable kicker is where it's at atm. JD has kicked things off...pun intended :p and I've decided to go with a kicker that will get many pot shots with the emerging West Pittsburgh creeping closer to play-off credibility. I also think Detroit are going to be a surprise packet...there's one cat out of the bag for ya all. Houston will stink. 3 wins is an ambitious expectation so FG's could be thier only scoring power.

12th? well, you may have to go to 13th on the list now as you obviously don't give a damn. I'm sure that remark will surely come back and bite you in the arse Danz.

Just for interest sake, give us all a heads up of who you rate before Rackers for this fantasy league?

Desperate for help and looking for a miracle at running back, Mizza takes Dominic Rhodes, RB, OAK and Kenny Irons, RB, CIN with picks 144 and 145.

Sorry, just thinking out loud!

You need an upgrade at WR, but you don't have another pick for about a week (pick 162 in round 11). You're looking for a miracle as well.

Personally I think your last 3 picks have been a waste of time. I can't believe you took Oakland's DST, what were you thinking???

Lol, next time I'll ask you nicer!

Nah it's cool.

Ok...Last 3 picks a waste of time? Raiders D. I need a DST, and they're gonna do great in 2007. So how's that a waste. Not a homer pick at all, but judged at least. Other better ones got taken and didn't want to wait a whole week to end up deciding between Browns or Lions etc. So not a waste IMO.

Bowe and Jarrett is the main criticism I got. IMO, Jarrett will be a TD machine. And solid 3rd down playmaker. What's wrong with 700 yards and 6 TDs?

Bowe is the one people think is even worse, and from what I know of the situation in KC, he will be the #1. But even if he's #2 (more likely) that's still 700 yards and around 2-? TDs.

So, I can't see the big deal....except if my info is completely been wrong and Bowe is NOT up to scratch somehow. But fairly recent, my info was he's in.

As far as what I'll pick next, depending on what goes, but there is SOOO much WR 'talent' out there that I may hold off still. I need TE. And there arent many left. And I'm inclined to pick another RB or two.

IMO, I'll probably try to get two TEs and DST purely for back-up, cant afford to have a TE go down or DST go bad all year, would need a backup.

So, I may leave 2nd DST for later, and focus on two TEs next two picks. Or I may go TE and WR. But you're right still, I will be looking to pick up some more WRs too. Probably a good old starter, with regular numbers, and probably some more rookies with potential explosive numbers.

Roughly 2 TEs, 1 DST, 0-2 RBs, 2-4 WRs, 1 K, and 1 Qb. Something in that ballpark.

Re: BigFooty Fantasy Football League

I propose a new picking rule.

At the end of this current round (so it is fair for all) you get a set amount of time to make your pick...say lunchtime the following day if the previous pick is made after 3.00pm the night before or by midnight if the previous pick occured before 3.00pm.

If you miss your pick you don't lose it, you just keep falling down the picking order until your online to make your original pick....in the meantime everybody else picks as normal - this promotes quick picking as you effectively move one spot up the order.

Just an idea.

I don't see what the hurry is.

TBH, the deeper we get into the draft more time will allow people to pickup 2nd and 3rd stringers that may have moved up the depth chart during the offseason.

No hurry IMO.

That's cool JD, it's not so much about being in a hurry but just keeping this thing going at an even pace and keeping the interest up.

If it slows down too much like the last few days and with us now getting past the sexy draft picks we run the risk of some losing interest.

Re: BigFooty Fantasy Football League

If we had all teams picked now . . . what would we do for the next few months? Surely people would lose interest if there's no activity at all?

I suppose the deeper we get into the draft the less an issue it is (autopicking), but it's hardly fair if someone's online all week only to miss their pick because their offline when their pick comes up. There's been two days in the past month I haven't been online and it happened to be when my pick came up.

Re: BigFooty Fantasy Football League

Mizza has been on the clock for about 13 hours, not that much really, i think the record is about 31 hours by Vick, no real hurry at the moment IMO, sure if it gets to 48 or 72 hours we might start thinking but at the moment i'm not fazed, if something does come up though as i have said earlier we may get someone like Sven to pick for him, at the moment though it is fine, although i am worried about Mizza, this league was intended to create talk and such, and on the whole most are but Mizza has something like 1 post on this thread, i really do want more from league members, you dont have to be on 24/7,but i wouldnt mind if he dropped in to talk occasionally

In defence of Mizza, I'm a uni student about to start mid year exams at the moment so I don't have a lot of time on my hands, if his profile is correct it says he is 17, so it's quite likely that he's got mid year high school exams on at the moment.

Either that or he's doing what 17 yr olds should be doing on Friday nights, out partying! :thumbsu:

Re: BigFooty Fantasy Football League

Dont stress guys... I could care less if we have to wait the entire long weekend, and I doubt we will.

However its a worry because its allowing me greater time to plot my domination of this league!!

Looking for a Wide Receiver

Still no WRs taken from the Vikings, here's a snippet from kfan's reporting on the Vike's OTAs:

"During all the sections of practice which included group install, 7-on-7 and full team work the first team receivers were Bobby Wade, Troy Williamson and rookie Sidney Rice. The second team meanwhile consisted of Billy McMullen, Martin Nance and Jason Carter."

The Vikings will keep 5 of the 6 as Wideouts on their roster.

Sorry can't make it any easier than that!
