Nah the bids get matched with your next available pick you cant choose which ones to match with. So for a bid of 12 15 gets used and then the next pick (37) either moves forward or back depending on whether the matching team is owed points or still has some more to pay. 50s picks dont get used until their earlier picks are used first.

No, 37 doesn't move unless they still owe points, picks never get points added to them. The surplus creates a new pick at the end of the draft.

Flawed, can you explain to me and pardon my simpletoness in this regard!

Perryman gets bid on with Pick 12 which has a points cost of 1268 but 1014 to match.

We have Pick 15 (1112) do we not merely move up from there and the surplus moves to next available selection (37)??

Again pardon my ignorance re this!

Do you think Setterfield will go #1?

Thanks mate cheers.

He's one of the 3 that's have been reported that Essendon have looked at, he's my top player in the draft so I picked him

If Setterfield is the best player according to a Bombers in the draft, why don't Giants match the offer?

Personally our dream result was if they pick McCluggage and bids for Setterfield and Perryman come later than expected. That waould allow us to take McGrath and the two guns and still have surplus points for other Academy kids.

In reality I see Essendon taking McGrath, us taking Taranto at 2, Setterfield at 5 and Perryman at 10. If we retain all our picks we may also take Cumming and Macreadie depending on where bids come.

He loses 15, yes. Shouldn't affect too much else in the short term but I'll work out the Bowes bid in the morning and let you know.

Bowles was bid in with pick 5 which is 1878 points

20% discount = 1502.4 points needed

Gold Coast use pick 6 which is 1751 to match bid

1751 - 1502.4 = 248.6
Gold Coast receives pick 52 every team moves down order from there

We have McGrath at the top of our Board, if he is available we traded up to get him. If that means missing Setterfield then que sera, we're in the Premiership window so picking for needs.

Heard from a reliable poster on our board saying we've got interest in Cumming. Wouldn't surprise me if we bid on him with our second pick.

Harry Perryman picked at pick 12
GWS match

Pick 12 points = 1268

20% discount = 1014.4

GWS use pick 15 to match (1112 points)

1112-1014.4 =97.6

GWS receive pick 65 every team after moves down one pick
