Alright lets try and keep this thread clear of names of players who are currently on the list but i've been wondering who you guys would consider to be the least useful and biggest duds to of had the opportunity to say "I play for the Crows"

Some names to toss about include Nick Laidlaw, Linden Stevens, Tom Gilligan, Ian Downsborough, Lance Picioane, Greg Dempsey, Lucas Herbert, Darryl Wintle, David Gallagher, Clint Kirey, Brodie Atkinson, Mathew Smith and Jacob Schuback.

Any other nominations?

Fergus Watts just said he will be a 10-year player for us!! :) :)

Love the boy! Will show up Gilligan, Angwin and Nick Stevens for the tools they are. :thumbsu:

Ignoring guys who never played a game for the Crows, like Jim West & Andrew Geddes, you'd have to include the following

Sam Smart
Stuart Wigney
Josh Mail
Shane Tongerie
Brent Williams
Ashley Fernee
Tom Gilligam
Tim Cook
Aaron Keating
Barry Standfield
Linden Stevens
Ian Downsborough
Lucas Herbert
Brodie Atkinson
Ben Marsh
Sudjai Cook
Darryl Wintle
Ricky O'Loughlin
Justin Cicolella
Matthew Shir
Matthew Golding
Dean Howard
James Byrne
Evan Hewitt
Stuart Bown
Adam Richardson
Jacob Schuback
Ryan Fitzgerald
Ben Nelson
Daniel Schell
Luke Jericho
James Begley
Ronnie Burns
Fergus Watts

All teams have their own clangers

i wouldnt put begley in that group, he was a decent player for us.
also fitzgerald, if he had stayed injury free he could have been a gun

Jason McCartney for us, he turned out pretty good for the Roos but damn he was bad for us!

He wasn't given that much of an opportunity though.

When he was in the side he was moved around all over the place and was never really given a chance to settle in the one position. CHF one week, CHB the next, token big the other (see Chalmers).

No surprise then that when he was nailed into CHB under Denis Pagan he finally fulfilled some of the potential that he had bags of as an extremely highly-rated youngster who was courted by clubs the length and breadth of the country.

McCartney actually played a few games at CHB for the Crows, and on the times I watched him, he seemed a natural for the position

if i remember correctly he had a short fuse and was at times quite undisciplined, something blighty didnt stand for.

Which is funny, given Malcolm threw more tantrums while coaching us than any Crow did on the ground during his tenure.

I seem to remember Shaw recruiting J-Mac as a sort of enforcer to take some of the heat off of Mods, who had been monstered by the likes of Worsfold and Martyn in the past.

In his very first game, a trial or Foster's Cup hit out against Melbourne(?) I remember him getting stuck right into Mods' man from the get-go.

I swooned.

Yeah McCartney was meant to be a CHF saviour as the Crows hadnt had one to that point. He had a wicked start to the season in his first year but then did nothing for a long time and was one of the most criticised players both by Crows supporters and by the media - both here and in Melbourne. Ended with the nickname Jane.

Matthew Smith. Surely the biggest dud ever. Never played a game in 5 years on our list. Very suprised no one has mentioneed him yet in this thread.
