Offer him 1-2 years at 300k. No other club will want a piece so is worth it at that price maybe 400k but nothing more.

Well done Billy!
Like the way he is slooowly coming into his own.
The 6 bounce run was a bit over the top though could have easily made it 2 & bombed it in high as is often the case with counterpart.
Terrific insight as to what he is capable of!
Now we just need a forward that will lead from the square & Billy will start getting the other end of the stick.... you know.. not the shit end.
Keep it up Billy!

If he kicked a goal he could have been as good as an elite forward pocket

Advanced hair, via Footlocker to replace the boots he burned a hole in last night running his tail off!

Bit of sad hairline for a young bloke!

I noticed this about Hartung when he played as our super sub in a good team, he can go on those blistering runs and actually pinpoint kicks into forward 50 as well as kick running goals himself. He has that effortless movement with speed like Tom Scully, burns off people but doesn't seem to exert himself at all. When we go back to a structure with permanent quick forwards, he'll improve tenfold. I want to see him kicking to Cyril on the lead, as well as Gunston and Breust in their more natural roles.

Has got more of the pill in the last month and provides that line breaking run.

Still not great in a contest, but that's not his role.

Should develop nicely next year as he passes the crucial 50 game mark. (I believe most players break out between 50-100 games)

Expect he'll do well in AFLX and the Roos fans will be up and about.... the minute the contested stuff starts it will be back to...

Damn, we just had to let him go when AFLX started, we could have been kings.

I think he'll do fine, carve a career out for himself, losing him isn't a big deal though. They gave Atley a billion years to start playing okay football, so I can't see him not getting games there.

Was/am a fan of Billy. Sad to see him go. But the club hasn't gotten a delisting wrong in a very long time. So back them in.

Great move for him to go to North. He'd easily be in their best 10-15 players.

Ironically I feel he will be the best ex hawthorn player they have ever had and got him for nothing.

It's ashame they have learnt from their mistakes with trading with us :D.

Nathan Thompson kicked over 50 goals in a season twice with them, so Billy will have some improving to do in order to pass him. I do think he has improvement in him though, so I wasn't as happy as some to see him go.

Indeed! Billy would have netted us a first round pick from the Kangaroos only a couple of years ago.

Thommo how could I forget about him.

Good call.

He wasn’t half as bad as people made out, but I’d be more than willing to back the club in their call that his future was elsewhere, considering just how often they’ve gotten it right.

If only he could have improved his decision making.

I am extremely confident that we won't regret letting Billy go. Clarko and co know what kind of a player Billy. Most of us all know too. The less said the better

Not many leave hawthorn and get better.
