Freo back in melbourne, Hoping that they have already played there granny. Then a chance at pies or dogs in a prelim. Could be worse.

Agree, sometimes you can lose momentum with the week off (although you'd prefer it any day of the week).

Freo don't play a zone, so the game should be a less physical shoot out than it would v Hawks.

Cats tend to bounce back well from a loss, so a prelim against the Pies (likely) isn't the worst result. Pies would be feeling very nervous going into that match.

I feel for Freo, they don't deserve to be humiliated in a final after a good year. I hope they make it respectable but I fear Cats will tear them a new hole.

First Final in Melb for the Dockers. they have nothing to lose, heres hoping they know that and just play without nerves and fear. And heres hoping they are competitive.
WTF? They have a spot in a prelim to lose, entire season on the line. They have everything to lose. So do all the other teams still alive in the finals.

LOL I see the arrogance didn't dissapear overnight amidst all the wank-fest threads of "Yeah saints are one of the best", "saints and cats are 2 best teams etc"

So now you people think you're dead certainties to roll Fremantle as well?
Well you all thought that about the Saints now didn't you.

I see the concept of respect for ones opposition and taking it one week at a time is a concept lost on you arrogant people.

Why on earth would you think that? After you've spent 1 extra week more than we have getting battered around and against saints then freo no less.

I have no idea how today will pan out but SHOULD we win and I'm not saying we will it would stand to reason the bulldogs are not the most physical side therefore we should remain fresh if we win and be prepared to come out against anybody in the PF with HARD pressure.

Just like how we beat you guys earlier this year.....
in the SAME way the saints did. Get over yourselves. Your time has passed.

no one expects them to win and hence no pressure. That is what i mean when i said they have nothing to lose. Freo would have a good season if they win or lose next week.(of course it be a greater season if they Beat Geelong).

If the run of upsets continue tonight and the Bulldogs manage to get up (highly doubtful, but you never know), Geelong could find itself in the "easier" side of the draw with Freo next week at a ground they haven't played at all year, then the Bulldogs in the Prelim, a team we have a good record against in September, while it'll be a possible Collingwood-St.Kilda prelim on the other side of the draw.

Not many teams have beaten Geelong this year, let's give Freo some credit.

Think Harvey has been foxing a bit, instead of staggering into the finals with a double chance, he has chosen to rest and prepare.

If they take the game on, their youthful run and carry could give Geelong a headache, they certainly are fresher.

Won't be easy for either side, think it will be very close actually, I rate them both.

Fremantle have beaten Geelong this year whereas the Hawks had not.

I still think an injury depleted Fremantle can put in a gutsy effort.

True, Freo did beat us this year, but that was against a Geelong side minus Scarlett, Mooney, Ottens, Varcoe and Stokes, on their own dung hill six days after Geelong and Hawthorn played a bruising encounter in warm conditions. Even then, it took Freo until the last few minutes to shake us off.

Would be interesting to see how Freo go against a Geelong side with that quintet back in the side, having a seven day break while Freo have to travel the width of the country with a six day break and play on a ground they haven't played on all year.
