Where's this aggression you speak of? Discussion has been pretty good I reckon.

Gibbs had more clearances than Lyons, but the crows want to bring Gibbs in? Sort of counters your point.
If Kerridge is averaging 21 disposals a game at 63% efficiency and averaging under a goal a game next year, 100% of the people on this site would be calling for his head. Will Lyons be a best 22 in our next premiership team? No.
Average AFL salary is 300K. Average. AFC have offered him well below average. What is AFC telling us about Lyons then? Remember, this is a club that had the money to match the Dangerfield offer (so the Cats traded) plus the cap grows in 2017. They know him better than anyone else.
Hence why its probably not a good idea to essentially trade Gibbs for Lyons.Gibbs can clearly play as an outside player as well as winning his own ball.

He's the type of player who would supplement a Cripps, not be a Cripps.

I'm happy to carry that burden.......
Yes please, common sense is over rated!all those in favour of a logic and common sense moratorium in the blumour thread please like.........
bulldog supporters giving us advice on building a premiership listI don't like the idea of giving away pick 5 on a couple of players who aren't best 22, even at a team as stacked as GWS. Thought the job that SOS did last year was brilliant so I would be happy to back him but this situation looks a lot more like the Jaksch/Whiley deal than last years trade with GWS. Marchbank looks good though and you'd be happy to bring him in, I don't rate Stewart but I haven't seen Pickett before. I presume they are going to be the 'steak knives' in the deal.
I don't like that Gibbs deal at all. Lyons is a very good player but Gibbs is worth more than that. 13 + Lyons is closer to value than giving pick 24 back as well. I doubt you do that trade.
Hrovat will be a very good pick up. Unfortunately he hasn't had much opportunity in the past two seasons (injuries haven't helped) and players like Daniel, Hunter, McLean and Dunkley have gone past him in that half forward/wing role. Good ball user and once he gets a decent run at it and some sustained game time, I think he will thrive. Seems like a lovely guy too. Next years third rounder is nothing too, good risk/reward.
keep upIf Cripps has any more supplements he'll be 6"8 by the start of next season.

There goes our ruck problem. "Cripps wins the tap, Cripps wins the hard ball and then Cripps feeds off to a team-mate.....again!"If Cripps has any more supplements he'll be 6"8 by the start of next season.
Just got home from a long day at work. What do I read? bullshit trades and the worst part is it's from people who rarely get it wrong.
So pick #5 gone, Bryce gone just for an 11 pick upgrade and a journeyman.
It's typical Carlton. I wanted to believe things changed I really did especially after last year's draft. But now I'm finding it very hard. We are always going to look for a quick fix. A club that was used to bringing players in with cash to win flags has no idea what to do to build from the ground up.
To all those saying you don't know what's coming back, well let me tell you what's NOT coming back to us:
Pick #7, Shiel, Cognilio, Smith, Lobbe, Patton, Kelly, Cameron or anyone else of value.
It'll be Marchbank (constantly injured) Pickett (not in their best 22), Stewart (not in their best 22) and/or maybe Tomlinson (barely in their best 22) or possibly pick #15 (nowhere near as important as #5).
**** me dead. How stupid can they be? Targeting their fringe players. I DGAF about GWS being different and how hard it is to be in their best 22. Pick #5 would very likely be a best 22 player for us for the next decade. None of those guys will be with the exception of Marchbank but he isn't as important to our side as a gun mid.
And I don't want to hear about how their going to excel with us because they've lacked opportunity and it's not their fault. Listen carefully, that is complete HORSE SHIT. Where's Whiley, Sumner, Lamb, Philips and Jaksch sitting? All of them are not good enough in terms of being long term prospects at AFL level. Heard the same crap about those guys. They're lacking opportunity because they're not good enough! Or in Marchbank's case, constantly injured.
This is going to be a complete disaster. Just two ****ing years ago we did this and we are already regretting it. Why are we doing it again???
As for Bryce, I was ok with trading him FOR THE RIGHT PRICE FFS. An 11 pick upgrade and another joureyman? Please. This must be a joke. Bryce cannot be traded for anything less than a top 10 pick. If it's pick #13, then they need to add a quality player with it. Not ****ing Lyons.
The saddest part is we actually hold the advantage in both trades.
Marchbank has nominated us and is uncontracted. Bryce is contracted. So ****ing pissed off right now!

i was following him through the season due to fantasy footy related stuff...he was standing out and consistent through the season. quite impressive really. just hard to know whether thats his ceiling or not...was it his breakout season!? i would hope he has some more improvement in him...particularly if we were to grab him.I also must be missing something...
Lyons averaged nearly 22 possessions this year in a quality team.
He had nearly 2 shots on goal a game (1 goal a game)
Nearly 5 tackles a game.
He played in both finals and racked up 9 tackles against the roos in the first final.

If we can get him, I say do it
Legit hope MS3 comes in with a rumour that we are trading Cripps for a second rounder and Vickery.
