What would the compensation pick be if we lose him as a FA next year.
Considering we'll likely be bottom 6 and he will definitely be in the highest % bracket of pay.
We would get an after first pick compensation.

So unless we're getting more than say pick 7 from Gold Coast I doubt we do anything.
Depends, if you bring in a FA then it’d be nothing, otherwise depends on his contract value. No guarantees the suns Ofer is there next year, so possibly with a lower offer maybe only end of first round.

I agree.....GC won't pay that so he stays at Adel and signs a new contract or he doesn't, and you blokes get the 1st Rd pick if he leaves next year.

We would avoid doing so you'd think if the compo is pick 6.
Unless of course there was the option to bring in a superstar.

You wouldnt bring in a 2nd or 3rd round worth free agent and give up pick 6.

Is what it is.
I'd be very happy to keep Crouch and bring in the outside players we need around him, Matt and Sloane

I think the manager of crouch has played this terribly by making him look like a mercenary with the dollars that have come out at the same time asking for a 5 year deal from the crows.

Players like Martin , Kelly , Coniglio and probably a few more were given 7 year deal from their clubs with no issue but the crows look reluctant to give Crouch 5 and thats for a good reason his history with injuries is scaring the crows who would know him best.

He is not in the top 20 mids in the comp and whilst im bias would much rather have Dion Prestia in my team than Brad crouch only because of durability
If Crouch has another year like 2019 which was a very good year then sure but too much risk at the moment to offer 5 years at such a high salary

Funny that comparison came up today in a group convo.

Group was split 3-3 (all neutrals - didnt include the crows supporters) on whether they'd take Prestia or Crouch.

I think its a decent comparison although obviously Prestia's resume looks a lot better with the premiership medals.

GCS Pick 1 + 20 for Crouch, Crouch & Greenwood?

Or maybe Pick 1 + Pick 2 for Crouch, Crouch, Greenwood + pick 4?

No way would we do that.
Not a chance in hell.

Brad Crouch alone is worth a top 10 pick.
Matt Crouch about the same.
Greenwood worth maybe a late 2nd.

Brad Crouch yes (top 10), Matt Crouch I'm not so sure...maybe 10-15, agree with Greenwood he's almost a steak knife.

But there's a different between top 10 and top 5 picks. Picks 1 & 2 are extremely valuable unless your club totally stuffs up player development.

Im not even considering the premierships or the B & F to be honest
For me its all about durability as i cant question Brad's game as witnessed this year , For me its 7 years 83 games and im sure with 1 year to go prior to free agency where he would get alot more money with another year his manager would be certain he would get a better contract.

I feel as Crouch & Manager are also concerned that he may not be able to emulate 2019 or injuries could effect his value if he gets injured again
For mw if he wanted to come to Richmond and i was the list manager i would be looking at a Pick #10-#15 with $700k x 4

He is best fit for club like Brisbane and Hawthorn where their fitness and condition department are elite, can't see him any good in GCS colour with the type of money demand and the most injuries compare to 16 afl club with the exception of magpies.

Certainly continuity has been an issue for B.C.
I think Prestia had some similar issues over the journey though didnt he but just the last few years he's been pretty clear.

Remember Crouch's 2017 was as good as his 2019. So he's had 2 very good years around a year off with injury.

I think hes a bit underrated by certain circles. He's far more talented than Matt.

Thats probably the right price. However with him up for FA next year and the possibility that we will be right down the ladder, I would assume we wouldnt do a trade for something less than the FA compo.

I don't think he is underrated, just not enough sample AFL games for club to risk paying over. If GCS had Hawthorn, Brisbane conditional team or clarkson I would definitely paid pick one for him. Weller is not as good as crotch but his availability for AFL games already better than Matt. You don't want to paid 1 million for 5 year parking him in rehab.

He's had 2 full seasons in the last 3 and has been quality throughout.

Whether he's over the foot complaints, I dont know...but he looked more free than ever.

The sample is there - hes played almost 100 games.

With BC there is no doubting talent
Prestia is a year older and has 155 games compared to Crouch 83 games so even if crouch plays a full year he would be 105 games so on average Prestia has 45% more games if age's were the same.

Brad crouch has had 2 full years written off 2015 & 2018 and missed alot of games most seasons he has been on a list with only 2 full seasons from memory
It is a big risk and he could easily play another 60 games in the next 5 years and for that i dont believe it would be worth paying a high draft pick or the $1 mil asking price.

He doesn't understand RFA, stop wasting your time

Matt is an AA and B&F. He is one of the most consistent inside mids going.
Most people have him in the top 10 in a redo of the 2013 draft, which was one of the stronger drafts. He's is worth a top 10 every day of the week. If he was playing for A Vic club the media would be fawning all over him.

I'd like to see and Adelaide/Gold Coast mega trade.

Youth and picks to the Crows, quality established players to the Suns. Would be good for the competition. Adelaide are stale and haven't had an early pick to get excited about since... ever? Gold Coast need some good players who are ready for action, not just kids and cast offs.

Nah swallow, Anderson, Florini, Rowell, Rankine, Brodie, Bowes, Ainsworth pretty good already and Greenwood also can play a bit of midfield time. Still got Miles, Murdoch, GHS and 10 rookie spot for state league and academy players ( including Darwin zone) . Such a waste playing Anderson and Rowell in NEAFL.
Fully utilised SPP and try to get own version of Sydney stack and Pickett through Rookie list, don't even need to worry about salary cap for rookie list players.

Forgive me for not knowing this but what changed in the game plan between 2017 and 2018, wasn't the coach the same?

The loss of McGovern, Cameron and Lever. 3 of the best 23s at the time, Charlie especially hurts if u have seen him play. Then the older players getting older and not performing as well.

Don’t think we are a a bad as people think, most of what we are trading is players not in our next premiership window.

The real question is do GC want to improve or not. If they want to improve, they’d trade pick 1 and 2 or both SA boys and instantly get better and more competitive. If it’s the Crouches or someone else, or they will be stuck in a cycle until they fold.

Roos did it with Melbourne when he was there and traded pick 2 (Kelly) for Tyson and pick 9, then trade in some hardened bodies as well. Youth is not the answer and they have had enough top draft pick of the years. The allure of pick 1 and 2 make people to tempted.

With the AFL giving them extra picks, it’s the year to trade. I just think they are to scared or to dumb to do it
