Re: Brad Ebert asks to be traded

Does that mean we Craig as well?

given our pp and 2nd rounder is a bit too much i reckon.

but the positive is that a player has said they want to come to port adelaide. thats the major positive. we shouldn't take that too lightly and milk it and throw it in the face of victorian media scum who keeps pointing to an exodus and say "say what?"

in terms position - hopefully he can use his size to help our small midfield.

o and i do not want to hear pearce's name bandied around for this trade. id seriously cry man tears if he is mentioned. you don't go down in quality seriously.

Re: Should Port trade for Brad Ebert?

he wants to come back to port- not just sa. He hates the crows and hated them even more when they overlooked jim in the draft. 2nd rounder plus pettigrew otherwise pick 2 in psd.

Now this is where we find out the worth of Rohde.

We offer WCE a reasonable pick - a second rounder or our priority pick ( he is a 75+ gamer) which according to the following article will look something like the following

https://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/122666/default.aspx

Priority selections
27. Gold Coast
28. Port Adelaide
29. Brisbane Lions

Uncontracted player compensation selection
30. Brisbane Lions

Round two
31. GWS
32. Gold Coast
33. Port Adelaide
34. Brisbane Lions

Tell WCE tomorrow it is one of those picks - we want the deal done by 12 noon next Monday - if they stuff us around and waste our time then we will stop talking and take him in the PSD for nothing.

Re: Brad Ebert asks to be traded

28 is the priority pick. 33 is our second rounder.

Re: Brad Ebert asks to be traded

damn it. people need to see past the excitement of someone asking to come back to us,

and the stigma of the 1st round pick,

because seriously thats all i ever hear..

" how often does a first round pick want to come home"

look at the player and how can he make our club better.

would be an upgrade on the banner/ broadbent/ thomas role. and to be honest banner only got a game after many many injuries and the other 2 only just fit in with those injuries.

cannot get a run in west coasts midfield, hence adding him to our midfield would make our midfield closer or further to theirs??

our midfield and team in general lacks line breaking speed and a decent level of

so we need to trade to make our team better. he will fit in somewhere in the 16th ( at absolute best ) to 30th on our list.

if we want to settle for a good to average player opposed to trying to find guns then we wont build a premiership team.

i dont like using the psd, but for once we have a player who is out of contract, we have a very good position in the psd, and have nothing to lose ( honestly what if they call our bluff?? he is not a game changer the guy we must get for us we can walk away).

picks6, pp and our 2nd rounder must be off the table. we can use those 3 picks to substantially improve our team.

try to use whatever we get from gws to upgrade a 3rd round to a 2nd round pick. send that to west coast. is it unders ?? yes.. should they accept it?? not if they dont want to, we offer fringe players petts? mots? 3rd round whatever, if its not good enough walk. i understand it may not be good enough for wc but we have to look after ourselves. they can say no and take a chance brad will stay.

whatever happens the only outcomes from this should be

a) a good deal for everyone

b) a poor deal for wc

in no way possible should we be forced to lose out in this deal. there can be no option c) port lose when our hand is not being forced.

Re: Brad Ebert asks to be traded

I would be happy with anything bar Motlop!!!!

Pick 28 + 33 for Ebert and 45 sounds fair.

Re: Brad Ebert asks to be traded

I like him. Ive liked him since watching him in the U17s. Can kick goals. can play as a genuine mid. Well built midfielder - how many of them do we have? Thomas. Thats it.

So long as we dont give up Boak and the rights to our next 5 first round picks then I cant see it being an issue.

Re: Brad Ebert asks to be traded

Ditto Macca

Do not understand the hate for Brad. Personally think he can be a very effective Joel Corey type with some patience and polish.

Good pick up for Port

Re: Brad Ebert asks to be traded

Dissapointed with his choice and obviously isn't the smartest in terms of where the two clubs are, but good on him for following his heart, he's a good footballer and he will definately add something to Port.

Ebert and Lycett maybe.

Yeah, it's probably a little under what I'd hope for but probably all we can expect. Wouldn't think pick 6 would be involved in any way and there's no Port players I'd be particularly interested in.* You can keep Motlop, Pettigrew, Surjan etc.

*at least any that Port would trade. Obviously if Boak or someone was involved I'd be ecstatic.

I'm ok with this. We will more than likely part with pick 28 (plus player or pick shuffling) and with the so called weakness of this draft I can't see a mid fielder as good as Ebert falling to us with that pick. Even if we did get someone on par with Ebert with pick 28 we'd have the advantage of Ebert having a matured body and 70 games experience.

Ebert and Lycett maybe.

Already mentioned on the Eagles board and I'd strongly consider it.

Would certainly force GWS to draft longer before #6 which should free up a talented mid for Eagles but it will leave them with a gap in their ruck stocks.

Ebert and Lycett maybe.

No way WCE would give up Lycett. We NEED a ruckman for when Cox retires or if the unfortunate happens to one of our ruckman during the season. Us supporters saw enough in his first game and throughout the WAFL season to know that he isnt one to be traded.

What players would you all say that Port could give to WCE?

How about Ben Newton

FYI, we will see enough of player drafted at pick #6 to know he isn't to be traded after one game also. We are not offering a bag of chips here.
