Would be a good thing if Pres came out and said that no finals in 2023 is a failure

would certainly galvanise the group. Elephant needs to leave the room.

Given the exact opposite was said by a player during the week, that’s probably the worst thing he could do right now.

Disagree. It would set an example from the top that failure is unacceptable. He should have already shut Cerra down by now.

Sayers was ruthless at PwC and is ruthless in the commercial world. He wants to be linked to a Blues flag. The term “healthy ego” applies. I just hope this isn’t the one thing he fails at. I’m actually surprised Cerra has not been corrected - I would bet internally he has been

Sensational article...

"As Carlton continually re-writes masterplans, the club is no closer to a 17th flag. Prominent Carlton powerbrokers are pointing the finger at the ‘pathetically’ run board. Go inside the unrest."

"Mathieson said coach Michael Voss was going to be the one who “copped it in the neck” because of the club’s systemic bad management as he criticised the decision to retain football boss Brad Lloyd in 2021."

Vince is a bit of a joke so I don't take much from him.

Matheison's comments on the other hand are quite a serve. Brutal on Cook, Sayers and Lloyd. He would get info from his nephew. Will be awkward for him at the next board meeting lol. No doubt as a supporter he is frustrated like us. Not sure the criticism of Cook is nessecarily fair. Also confirms the rumour that Patty Kinnersly is the reason we said no the Lyon. Can understand why he is annoyed with that one.

The best way to make that talk go away is success on field. This board can't seem to get that done.

I don't really have 50 cents one way or the other but they're not wrong that a common denominator of the consistent failure has been the board while every position below them shifts and changes.

But I'm just an idiot on the internet that doesn't particularly look at boardroom stuff, I don't even know who is on the board, so I don't know which way is correct.

The only boardroom I really do hate is Cricket Australia, but that's another conversation.

Harsh but true.

Vince, Matheison, Jones, etc have views and those views don't deviate a lot from a large amount of supporters or those in AFL world. These folk at least have better inside info that we the less known members obtain... I 100% support the idea that a 5 year plan is perplexing if those putting that plan in place are not there to see it through to the end. Also the fact that the inevitable scapegoat will not be who it should be.

Surprised they didn’t go to Kouta for a quote or two.

So Mathieson thinks Carlton are a rabble NOW? What about when his proxy / appointee Loguidice was in charge. That was the definition of a rabble.

Not a peep from him then.

Going after Cook is so B grade it's unbelievable. He had incredible success at West Coast and Geelong but according to Mathieson its all down to Frank Costa?

Sayers+Cook vs. The Log+toxic dwarf Liddle = no contest. We're in an infinitely better position now. The previous pair were a case study in incompetence.

Without his mate Log there Mathieson can't control the club. I get that he doesn't like that but to launch a completely unfounded attack on the current people involved is extraordinary. How selfish can 1 bloke be?

Hand back the pokies and tell Mathieson to F right off. Who does he think he is?

Half the directors (4 of 8) have been on the board for less than 2 years, I'm not sure you can say they are the common denominator.

Same s**t as the late seventies.
Some people forget that... We had board turmoil, sacked coaches all through that period and somehow still won premierships.

The agitators asking for replacement of the board now seem to conveniently forget that the entire board has been replaced in the past 10 years - Sayers the longest serving current member, appointed in 2014.

I'm pretty sure most those people don't understand what a board actually does. Blaming the board is an easy target.

If dial-a-quote Mathieson is against the current board they must be doing a decent job.

What kind of braindead article makes an argument against blaming the coach using Bruce Mathieson quotes?

Sat next to Mathison for a few hours in the Qantas Lounge a few years ago. The guy is a loud mouth dickhead.

And you can add blood sucking leech with the damage his pokies cause to society.
Particularly the more disadvantaged and elderly. They devastate and destroy families and communities.
I would like it very much if we could get by without them and in fact, they should be banished all together.

Shocking things that we would be much better off without.

Just what we need Mattheson and Loccisano burning the house down the day before our last chance to make finals
It would be a bit different if they had a competent team to replace the board
The comments on Cook by Matheson are totally out of line.
Matheson needs to consider that Pagan, Malthouse, Silvagni and Cook were successful everywhere but Carlton
Carlton is the problem not Cook. And it is Matheson's blood line on the board.
MIKE FITZPATRICK NEEDS TO COME HOME
