If our draft worked out like that then I would personally take a shit on Vozzo's car bonnet.

If that happens then we have lost the plot.

Well to be fair it's been widely speculated that WC acquired all those second round picks for the purpose of drafting some WA talent right? They are some players i've seen mentioned in a number of places of going at those picks. Ryan maybe a bit early but yeah, not outrageous.

Also, when talking about WC losing the plot, your recent drafting history hasn't been all that flash i've found your drafting a little strange and don't have too many young kids really excelling at AFL level. Though they will certainly get more opportunity this year.

Yeah our recent drafting has been average.

I just thinking reaching for Kelly and Ryan isn't smart. I think we should take the punt that Kelly and Ryan will be there at 26 and 37 at the least.

I fail to see how Ryan has gone from worse than Gorter to pick 26. I doubt any poster on here would be happy if their club used 26 on Ryan.

Fogarty is massively overrated and only linked to us because of Rayner I saw the kid play a few TAC Cup games this year and can tell you that I wouldn't pick him in the top 25

I disagree with you.
He was exceptional for St Kevins, had a good national carnival and had a couple of standout TAC games. His last game against Calder was terrific.
He is going to be a solid AFL foot soldier at the very least.
He reminds me of Zac Merrett

Rookie Pick at best for mine. As long as he doesn't have to play on Nyhuis, he could be OK depth.

As Anderson, Matt Balmer, Twomey and most every other draft watcher has mentioned, this is a shallow draft. That Kelly and Ryan are being considered in the 20's isn't a reflection on their talent, but rather an indictment on the talent in this years draft.

I don't think that Ryan is in the top 26 players in this draft.

Nor do many/any in their power rankings.

Seeing as Anderson has said he's tried to get as much information from clubs as possible, Maybe clubland thinks differently to amateur power rankings.

There is no maybe about it, everyone will rank players differently. It just seems that its unanimous amongst all sources that Ryan hasn't jumped from undraftable to pick 26. I think it's a poor move

I wonder if every draft has a Brett Eddy? Mature ager, kicks a heap of goals, but miles off AFL standard.

Totally agree - another who has snuck under the radar. Rayner looks better because Fogarty gets it to him.

So every one of Freo's picks will come from interstate? Somehow I dont think so.

Murphy at 22 is bonkers.

I would be stoked with murphy wooller and miers but i.doubt murphy falls that far too.

Would probably take hayes at 24 if there.

West Coast supporters seem to get upset with every phantom. You ain't fixing your midfield with pick 13 and a bunch of second rounders in this trash draft. Be happy if you pick a long term player or two. Allen looks like a natural to me anyway.
I'd be happy with Allen. I will be disappointed if he doesn't end up at WC. We will regret it.

Not unhappy with the players per se- just a lot have thrown Allen to us just because he's the local boy. That's all the reasoning given. So a lot of the frustration comes down to how lazy a lot of journalists are towards our list.

WC have gone into the draft to improve the midfield depth. Not to pick up HBF or KPDs which everyone seems to throw at us with the picks in the 30's, of which we have surpluses of.

Didn’t like this mock at all and reckon he’ll struggle a bit all the way through it. Doing an entire draft is pointless, he’d be better of just doing a club by club analysis and discussing whom they like and are interviewing.

I like that Brett puts in a lot of work but he was a bit arrogant today in talking about fans watching 3 minute videos value judging him.

The fact is a lot of his selections are odd and worthy of discussion. Needs to not be so sensitive and harden up.

At least he's had a crack at a full draft on Monday. I used to always think Quayle's mock draft was dumb because it was released about 8 hours before the real thing. What's the point in that?

Would you be happy if you picked Liam Ryan at 23?

There is no need to. There are only 2 teams who could realistically take a chance on him and make it work: the 2 WA teams. Freo don't have a pick until 42 (assume they won't use 2 or 5 on Ryan). Therefore, WC can trump them by using their last pick before 42, which I think is 37. WC will take him at 37. Can't lose, there is only upside risk. Melbourne won't chance a pick in the 20's for a total flight risk.

By the way, I think Ryan looks a great pick up. Great player. But only for a local AFL side.

Eagles have more chance of fixing their list problems in this draft than Norths do.

But seriously everyone knows the Eagles need to address the midfield ......so Ben how does selecting one midfield with 5 picks inside the top 37 achieve thus?

And how can the Eagles do better?

13 Clark /Higgins / O'Brien / L Fogarty
21. Constable / Bailey / Stoddart
26. Kelly / Stoddart / Houlihan
32. Worpel / Moore / Ballard
37. Taylor / Miller / Kreuger - one tall needed
69. Ryan / Grigg / Scloithe

Walker, Ross, Krueger, Martini.

Swap Martini for Butts and I'd be a happy chap.

He thinks Melbourne are keen on Ryan at 29, so WCE may have to use 26 if they want him.

The whole Ryan speculation is laughable

Laughable in that there was 0 reason not to rookie him last year by the Eagles. Anyone with half a brain could forsee this outcome (plays well in 2017 for Subiaco and then there is a fight for him in the draft). Absolute morons the Eagles list people are

Also, I don't think Allen will be at West Coast next year

Yeah, no shit. We've got two picks in the top 60. We don't rate this draft as most clubs and draft watchers don't. Get ready to be disappointed.
