Yeah, the AFL shouldn't have helped Carlton in 2006 either because no one else got the same assistance at the same time. I mean it's not like Carlton did anything in the previous years before that to bring it upon themselves.

Ian Collins said they should have just handed back the keys as there was no hope of the Blues surviving...he said it around about 2002 I believe...before it got even worse.
On top of that - Carlton finishes of last in 2002, 15th in 2003, 11th in 2004, 16th in 2005, and 16th (last) in 2006 did wonders for Carlton's ability to obtain money to survive.
Brisbane is experiencing what Carlton is experiencing...but it won't get as bad for Brisbane. The difference is that the AFL will want to help Brisbane and one can easily contrast that to the reluctance to help the Blues. They wanted to do as little as possible. They are the facts.
