Draft another Billy Longer with a PP and it will be a win-win for 17 other clubs let alone St Kilda.

Sure - but we want Saints to benefit the most, we'll trade him to you thanks to our shit culture.
I'm sure you'll lap it up with glee ;)

It seems just the promise of a PP is enough to get Brisbane flogs sticking their chests out again.

Has the welfare mentality really become that entrenched in Brisbane?

I am under no illusion that a priority pick will single handedly fix our problems but oh man will the salt be scrumptious if we get one. Will be typing a few usernames into the old search function.

PPs should be scrapped altogether.

Melbourne got two first round picks for Scully, were allowed to take Viney with their 4th pick, got a second round pick for Sylvia then got a first round pick for Frawley. Cry me a river if you didn't also get a PP.

Brisbane effectively used picks 2, 14 and 24 last year.

Hey, I've read all moving goal posts rambling from you here and have become more wiser than ever.
I won't credit the welfare mentality, all credit to you ;) - keep waging that post battle, loads of fun.

PS:
JeffDunne: "Shit Kulcha, yuck"
Pick 8 two years ago but going at pick 25 now.
JeffDunne: "let me close my nose and still take a lick outta this shitpot. Pick 8 ruckman, too good to be true" ;) ;)

Brisbane can have one at the end of the 1st round. Pick 20 won't really affect any other team.

Two years ago?

I can understand your selective reading throughout this thread causing confusion between the ears - it'll get better don't worry. Let me spell it out for you again

"Pick 8 two years ago and pick 25 now" so from timeline context this was when Longer got traded. He was pick 8 two years prior to that.

Waiting for you to move that goal post again ;)

And here was me thinking I asked a question.

It's cute how Brisbane supporters can manage to lay blame at everyone other than the rabble they follow.

Even for their shithouse trading.

I think you'll find majority of our supporters understand that the situation we're currently as a whole is largely our own fault.

What's been so bad about our trading post 2009? Especially given the circumstances.

Haha I can see the victim mentality creeping in now. May be you are spending too much time here and all these cultural deficiency is seeping in.

Whose fault was it when Carlton, Hawthorn, Melbourne, St Kilda and Collingwood were shithouse and got draft assistance?

The rules have changed since then and give Melb teams academy players and higher salary caps.

Make it an even playing field across the country and be done with it.

Until the AFL even remotely represents an even playing field it is all pub talk and bias depending who you support.

They didn't get draft assistance.

Actually they did...

PP picks were given under the rules in force at the time.

Now the AFL has moved the goal posts much like they have on other things regarding Academy kids and higher salary caps for different teams.

The AFL need a competitive interstate market and this alone will see a PP awarded to the Lions.

Um, no, they didn't.

They were allocated draft picks as per the draft rules at the time.

Brisbane last year (& probably this) are asking for additional assistance.

This is factually correct.

The rules have changed now though.

Ofcourse, but whatever rules in force at the time and the ones in force right now, there's no debating that they received draft assistance.

I'm cool with people citing a rule change. Makes much more sense than the "Brisbane doesn't deserve help because their problems are self inflicted". Like any club who had a rough trot and got help in the past wasn't somewhat responsible for their issues too...
