Fix their facilities but no chance they should get a pick.

100% correct there mateFix their facilities but no chance they should get a pick.
What happens next week when the Lions beat Carlton? Do they still deserve the millions the AFL will be pumping into them?
But when Richmond's in dire straits it's hilarious? We had two x 12-year stretches without finals. Yet I'd be the last to assert that my club has any right to be successful.
Not opposed to assistance re facilities and maybe even AFL-endorsed admin/coach. But enough manipulating the competition and taking from other clubs to make AFL projects successful. Far too many "point in time" decisions being made.
Richmond are an obvious exception though and IMO it's not the fairest comparison. Fully agree with your last sentence.
I posted this last week...and I was proven correct. Brisbane beats Carlton, yet Brisbane are the ones about to get the priority pick, whilst Carlton withers of the vine.
Yes, "equalisation" is working extremely well.
The draft is superb...giving bottom teams a quick chance of development...not!
Let's pump millions into Brisbane under the guise of "improving their facilities".
I get how the system works.
Any financial inducements to Brisbane should be matched dollar for dollar with Carlton, instead of them paying "equalisation taxes".
I wonder if Hawks asked for a Priority pick in 10 years we'll consider it?100% correct there mate

Was there much prodding?Cut them some slack. They are feeling a bit embattled. I have friends who never leave early, starting to leave matches early.
I am going on Saturday arvo as a member's guest and I am just keeping my mouth shut unless prodded.

seems like they recruited well.... Luke Hoge helping them for a year can improve themOriginal thread: https://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/brisbane-needs-help.1067570/
Thread was started 2 years ago. They need it more now than they did then
I wouldn’t be too disappointed with Schache. I don’t think he has the grunt to cut it.We're getting some good talent through, though I'm still disappointed that the AFL turned down our request for a priority pick again.
Personally, I see the Lions having lost too much early talent to make a decent run of it now. We've got some good up and comers, but not enough to be competitive in September. Schache the latest - effectively lost for Toby Wooller (pick in the 40s) and a minor pick upgrade. We still haven't had a top 5 draft pick who has make it to their 3rd season on our list. We'll progress up the ladder as the team get older - might make it as high as the top 8... Then back down for another rebuild when Zorko and Beams retire in the next few years.
And Gil will continue to be generally pleased about the state of AFL in Queensland.
******* LOL!
Imagine how shit Richmond would be without him!
Richmond were a bottom six team when I posted that.Unlucky
