Both needed a kick up the arse.

Both got one.

Much of a muchness.

Think both teams won out of it. Both have realised this may be there last chance and have pulled a finger out of their ass, and have started playing pretty well.

Hopefully both can keep it up

He has done more in one game than what Cloke has done all season.

IMO Cloke wont make it.

So tell us what it is that Bryan has done in his one game that Cloke hasn't managed in his 4 games? Then please tell us why Bryan will make it & Cloke won't? Bearing in mind that prior to arriving at Carlton, Bryan had already played at 2 VFL clubs & is now playing at his 2nd AFL club. All this by the age of 25. There is a good reason why Bryan has alreay been unloaded by 1 VFL club & 1 AFL club. I will leave you to figure out what that reason is, given your incredible football knowledge.

Hey hey, let's not pretend that your "unloaded" him - You wanted to re-sign him, but he wanted a better deal.

"Unloaded" suggests that Carlton didn't want him - They just didn't want to pay him what he was asking for.

if cloke stayed at coll and bryan stayed at carl this season may have been their last with no 2nd chance....good luck to both of them

Bryan would not have been at Carlton this year. He was offered a 1 year contract, because we needed to have an extra ruckman on our list, which he knocked back, therefore he was delisted. The club were not prepared to offer him more than 1 year because he is too much of a risk, attitude wise. In the end we have replaced a 25 year old average ruckman, who wanted a 2 year contract with a 22 year old average ruckman who was grateful to be on an AFL list & therefore was signed on a minimum contract. And so far Cam Cloke has done everything asked of him, including kicking 3 goals tonight.

Oh come now - Everyone kicked 3 goals last night...

So would you have predicted before the game that Cloke would kick 3 goals? A pretty handy effort for someone described as a dud. Chris Bryan has yet to achieve that. At this stage, Cam Cloke at 22 years of age is looking a bit better prospect than Chris Bryan at 25 years of age.

If I had've known that there was going to be 39 goals kicked between the two teams, and nobody on the field would kick more than 3, than I probably would have predicted it.

You act as though Collingwood supporters are surprised at Cameron Cloke doing what he's doing...

We've seen it before - His stats are virtually identical to those he had for us in 2005.

Cam Cloke wasn't what we wanted - There's no point in us comparing him to anyone, because he was a player we de-listed, and had no interest in keeping. It's not as though we thought "do we want to keep Cameron Cloke, or should we dump him and get Chris Bryan instead?" We had no way of knowing that there'd be any kind of experienced ruckman available in the draft, and we dropped Cameron Cloke anyway.

Much the same for you guys - You didn't want to give Chris Bryan a two-year deal. It had nothing to do with GETTING Cameron Cloke.

A better thread would be Cameron Cloke vs. Ty Zantuck.

Bryan really isn't the type of player Carlton would want around the young emerging superstars at the club. He seems to have an extremely lazy attitude towards his training and a dislike of hard work on the field. He does however, kick some pretty impressive 65 meter helicopter punts though.
Cloke on the other hand, while probably not as naturally talented, seems to have the determination and drive that rubs off on the kids he trains with. To see him get to his feet in the the dying seconds of the game v Essendon after being concussed, is a real testament to his passion for the game and the team. A millions times better than anything Bryan did in his time at the club.

As I said earlier though, this was a perfect description of Cloke when he was at Collingwood as well. He was perennially overweight and under-fit when he was at Collingwood. Cloke had the added bonus of multiple off-field indiscretions involving speeding and drinking (thankfully not at the same time).

Both appear to be working much harder now that they are at their new clubs.
