My own judgement is that its too close to call.

Players have had remarkably similar careers in their first two AFL seasons, although Gibbs has played a 3rd season.

Both have played off half-back, forward, and occassionally as shutdown players (with varied success).

Thoughts on who will be the better player?

I might go Cale Morton just for his running ability.

The only person bringing B13 in here is yourself.

Ok Hodgepodge, tell me when Bryce has been played as a forward... Tell me why you fail to mention Bryce plays also as a midfielder.. Do you really know anything about these players? Or do you go on what you read on the Bay? You are trolling and you know it.

Bryce has played up forward on at least one occassion, if not for an entire game.

I'll name Rd 22 2008.

Cale Morton has also ventured up forward.

I'll name Rd 16 2009.

Spot on.

This will be one of the most lopsided polls ever, and yet Hodgepodge acts like it is an actual contest.

Beyond a joke he is.

Gibbs is probably the best player drafted in the last 4 years, although obviously a huge amount of them haven't had much of a chance to show themselves yet. Pick anyone from Morton's draft which was a year later and they'll lose to Gibbs. What's next? Franklin vs Watts I suppose. Shit poll, but I still voted Morton anyway, of course.

Im glad you Dees supporters are not falling for his troll.:thumbsu:. He will be shattered that Bryce is not getting hammered as thats his whole aim of starting these threads.. He cant stand Gibbs, and wants to see him get a smashing,, But its good to see another of his threads fail.. :thumbsu:

So you fail to mention Gibbs plays on the ball, which he does a lot.. Yet you tell us he plays forward which he may have done for half a game in his whole career with Carlton.:o. You are a troll.. A pathetic one at that.. Whats worse is that you think that you amuse people.. :o

I didn't mention midfield for either player.

Then why did you start the post if you don't even know what position one of the players plays?

"Has flourished since moving into the midfield and has become one of the Blues’ prime movers. Third in the best and fairest last year behind fellow midfielders Chris Judd and Marc Murphy. Led the Blues in disposals and kicks, was second in handballs, tackles and inside 50s, and third in marks and rebound 50s. Reads the play superbly, uses the ball well, has tremendous poise and is strong overhead."

He finished 9th in the 2009 Brownlow medal polling 15 votes, more than any player from the wee and the poo.

Thread. Not post.

I do know what position they play. I simply mentioned the other positions to highlight their versatility.

Everybody knows we're talking about midfielders here . . .

As much as I hate Carlton, Gibbs by a fair margin, Morton is nothing special at all, will end up as a good player but never in the upper echelon of players
