This is for all those with official BF Freo Buddys...

I though it would by fun to set your buddy with a few goals/KPI's this year and see if it can be acheived at the end of the year. We can bump this post back in October and give us something to gloat about our buddys before the new draft!

This should be something realistic and that can be measured with facts/stats.
I have come up with a few ideas but feel free to make up your own:
  • To be elevated (Rookie)
  • Get a game by round # (Draftee)
  • Avoid injury (2nd yr player)
  • Score a # of goals total/game
  • Acheive a SC/DT ave score greater than #
  • Avoid playing in the WAFL
  • Avoid club suspension (Johnson )
Ill start with 3 for my Buddy Nathan Fyfe.

  1. Play 20+ games (inc finals)
  2. Kick 5 goals in 1 game
  3. Be nominated for Mark of the Year
Remember the bigger the goal you set... the more you can gloat!

3 Goals For Tendai Mzungu

1. Play Round 1 + 15+ games during the season
2. Be among the best players in at least 4 games during the year
3. Beat the DT price raise of Barlow's from last year

I'd like to see Siba get over his OP (if that's what he has) get on the park and play some good footy for Perth picking up where he left off last year.
Eventually I hope his WAFL form will be so good he will demand a run in the seniors in time for the mid year Rookie elevation (if there is such a thing this year).

3 goals for Bob Dylan:

1. play at least 15+ games
2. get talked up as a flaw in the rising star nomination guidelines for clearly earning one yet not being qualified
3. completely outclass at least 1 top 4 contenders forwardline.

Three for Mickey B

1. 15 games
2. 8 Brownlow votes
3. Averaging 22 disposals a game

+
4. No injuries;)

Joel Houghton

Make debut at AFL level
Kick goal at AFL level
Finish top 10 in WAFL for total goals
Get a new contract
Completely rip a WAFL game apart. 10 marks, 5+ goals.

Suban:

1. Cement spot in 22
2. No WAFL
3. Regain 2009 form
4. Be regular part of midfield rotation (from his usual HB/BP spot) in second half of season.

Ballantyne:

1. Avoid Injury
2. Score 60 goals in the season.
3. Score 9 in a game.

and maybe cheekily..

4. Earn 3 free kicks by niggling and get thrown to the deck
5. Earn a part in Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit"

Chris Mayne:

1. Win the Coleman (and win me a truckload of cashola from my $10 investment with the TAB)
2. Come up with a post-goal celebration that does not involve an animal impression
3. Sign a lucrative FTA TV deal to make 'Mayne Minutes' a weekly half hour show.

Nick Lower

  • Get elevated off the rookie list
  • Earn a game with the team
  • Smash opposition packs and retreive ball for the classy ball users in the side
  • Become a handy squad player and adapt to our midfield style of play
  • Make Port Adelaide pay for being delisted by hammering them with a BOG performance
  • Get a few goals.

Ballantyne:

5. Earn a part in Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit"

he is only a producer on the Hobbit, not director. Only to help out the new director so i hear...

But for Clarke,

1. Play 15+ Games
2. play one game in first 3 rounds
3. Kick 1 goal per game
4. Get 20 possessions per game

Peter Faulks

1. Play 15+ Games
2. Cement spot in side to play finals

3. Shut down an opposition Forward, so the forward gets less than 5 possessions, no goal, and is benched for most of the last quarter.

...

4. Have Dennis Commetti say, "Well, (player x) has been completely Faulked."

Byron Schammer's goals for 2011

  1. Invest in a Jim's Mowing franchise
  2. Use the current factionless state of West Australian Labor to secure a nomination for a sitting member's seat with the hope of being elected to Parliament in the next election.
  3. Take up a weekend hobby. Painting by water colour perhaps?
  4. Important to keep the morale up of the boys who will be playing AFL this year. Maybe organise paint-balling or go-karting for the boys.
  5. Clean Mark Harvey's pool every fortnight.
  6. Learn another language. English maybe?

Harsh.....I reckon Schammer will still get a game this season...Monopoly maybe....

Smoking Gun, Classy as always mate but I get the feeling nothings been quite the same since the Milky Bar Kid put the cue in rack?

I've been wading through fog since Thornton pulled the plug. The game is not the same. I preferred Fremantle when we were a team of spuds.

IBBO -

1. Play a vast majority of the year as an inside midfielder and start to have people stating that he may be the next Lenny Hayes.

2. Finish in the top 5 of the Doig Medal

3. Cement his name in the 21, change the mindset of those supporters out there that he is only a fringe player, and show why he has been raised to the leadership group

4. Light up the MCG in September, extracting, delivering and leading

For Duffield:
1. Second highest scoring BACK in DT (by Total).
2. 120 rebound 50s.
3. Kick to handball ratio 8:1 (good for DT)
4. Kick 10 goals (career total 19).

Duffield had a total of 211 R50's in 2010. Crank up that expectation a little bit ;).

1. Play 20+ games
2. Poll 15+ votes in the Brownlow medal count
3. Be the no. 1 ruck-man for hit-outs for 2011 after 24 rounds
4. Be in the top 10 of the competition for contested hit-outs

Left of field:
1. Win the Norm-Smith medal in a winning premiership side for 2011 :D
