Prelim last year was a very good result. Making it into the top 4 was a successful result. I will wait untlil season end - there is a lot of footy still to be played.

Would sacking Scott at years end guarantee more wins in 2016? Sacking plus more supporters shaking their fist at the TV?
Last year was an anomaly! Making a Prelim was a good result, missing out on the top 4 was a poor result. Getting thumped in a Prelim was a poor result (surely even you would say that was a let down).

Sacking Scott doesn't guarantee we will improve but sticking with the status quo where we lose games to teams we shouldn't (the reason we missed top 4 last year) guarantees there wont be any improvement! Recent history shows that that the Premiership teams have been built after the club made the hard decision to move on an under performing coach. The club is happy to deist under-performing players, it has to be willing to de-list under performing coaches.

We have lost 1 game in 2015 that we started favs. So what were the other games we should have won?

He just needs to be told that we appreciate what he has tried to achieve but in the best interests of the North Melbourne football club, it's time to move on.

Port, Collingwood and Sydney. Atrocious losses, each of them. We started favourite against Coll and Port were as crap against us as they have been all year but we couldn't beat them.

And the other 4 losses were beltings.

We've gone backwards at a time we should be improving. Most of us are rightly angry about that. You've missed the point.

But then again, you bet on * to beat us in the first final last year, so perhaps your expectation is met when we are below where we should be.

Mate of mine is an Opposition Analyst at club land and he text me this about our esteemed coach:
"He has no idea. Any decent coach would have the Roos cemented in the top 4. Flag is wide open this year and Scott is f###ing it up big time. North hardly ever exploit opposition weaknesses. It's weird"

We finished 4th last year we should have beaten, Crows in round 1.
Port was at home so we should win that one
Collingwood....you say they're no good so we should have won that one.

We made the finals last year because we managed to beat some of the top teams so we should have at least been competitive against Sydney, Hawks and Freo!

Last year Brad got a big tick because we started to win games on the road, something we hadn't been every good at before. This year we are back to the same shit performances on the road we have been accustomed too. Brad changed our travel routine when he came to the club, its been unsuccessfully and clearly he's too stubborn to change it!

Weird isn't how I'd describe it!

Process, process, process.

Structure, structure, structure.

Seems pretty believable.

I think you might be surprised at how highly Scott is rated in the industry.

I think we all would.
And B Tron this is what I was getting at when you alluded to Scotts being well respected in the industry. :stern look

Does your mate get paid for that insight? If so, can he get me a job?

We started underdogs in all those games you listed.

Fair enough.

My line of thinking is that he is a manager rather than a coach if that makes sense, and with the Suns interested it was most likely because ehy new that they needed to shift the culture completely, hence whey they were keen. I still think that in that sense he is very good and very well respected. Probably better suited to a FD Director role than coach then.

We were completely uncompetitive on most of those games. If we challenged any of those sides, or even went down swinging, then your arguement would have substance. Unfortunately, our team, jam packed full of senior players with mountains of experience, failed to give a whim.

We must change now.

We got rolled round one showing up in a mess.

We got rolled in round 14 showing up in a mess.

Does not sacking him guarantee more wins?

Wild Bill since the inception of the current final 8 finals system on no occasion has a team ever gone from outside the top 4 after the home and away to win the flag.

Only 3 occasions has a side from the bottom half of the 8 played off in a prelim, on all occasions those sides were beaten.

The short hand conclusion is that to win a flag you need to finish the Home and Away season in the top 4 (preferably top 2) to be able to play in a Grand Final.

After 5.5 years we are currently only a maybe to make finals at all. This when you take a step back an look at it is a complete failure.

When you compare it to other coaching records it is a complete failure.

The only modern coach he is remotely like is Thompson.

It took the Geelong side to be in almost full revolt to jar them into action, what is more our teams are fundamentally different.

THe Geelong side in 2007 was not reliant on a 37 year old to hold things together.

I have become very much of the opinion that the quickest way for us to get even remotely close to number 5 is to get a new voice in.
Articulately put.

I see it this way. This team gets the best out of itself when its backs are against the wall.
You need to win 3 CONSECUTIVE matches to win a final.

What motivates this group to succeed goes against all fundamentals of what it takes to win a flag.

Change must happen.
