If Scott does indeed read BigFooty :

Well done.
You have a whole lot of people who will back you in as our longterm senior coach if actions like these become the norm.

From myself, I couldn't think of a bloke I'd prefer to lead us to a flag, as a person. Hence a lot of the frustration at what's been going on.

And, as always, for my ideas that you read on this forum and implemented, i'll have a bag of smiths salt and vinegar chips for my services.

Thanks brad.
(and seriously, well done on the weekends efforts)

I think he believes his players are robots. Certainly he prefers players who play like robots. He doesn't like anyone showing a little emotion and flying the flag for each other. He denies the value of psychology. In saying that he doesn't believe in making a statement at the selection table, he is implying that what he does at the selection table does not impact the psychology of his players. They are not robots. They react to his selection table decisions one way or another. It's funny that you say anyone with half a brain could see this. Clearly Brad does not engage the hemisphere of his brain that is associated with empathy and emotion.

How very Grant Thomas.

I doubt any club has won a premiership because their players are motivated by not wanting to be dropped.

Nah the wouldn't have won that game on the back of it.

But they would have a culture of knowing it's put up or shut up every game.

Don't be fooled into thinking everything brad says to the media is precisely the truth. The media want to find cracks, they thrive off bad news to sell newspapers and he's smart enough to bend the truth when speaking to them.

What do you think the headlines would be if Brad came out and said "I dropped LT because he continually plays for free kicks, and I wanted to drop Harvey because he only ever runs one way but we've already made plans for his 400th so he's just going to be the sub this week".

It's plain to see that he's dropped LT and relegated Boomer to sub to send those players a message, and to put the whole team on notice. We don't NEED him to spell it out because it's obvious. Swallow even mentioned in the post game interview on TV that selection is no longer about talent, it's about performance, and you can bet your bottom dollar he is regurgitating Brad's words.

I still don't trust him that he has changed over the break and the players take him that seriously. I welcome everything he did on the selection table wether he believes he was making a statement or not

After being burnt so many times after 6 years, it's hard to see the bright side

Let's see what happens

Again asserted that Selwood did nothing wrong, Wright believed Selwood did nothing wrong, and said J-Mac was "trying to assert dominance in the contest" by pushing Selwood off Wright on SEN this morning.

I think he earnt a lot of credit back with his changes on the weekend, but don't come the raw prawn with us, Brad. Selwood was not "pinning the arm", he was wrenching it back. Comparisons with Chris Judd's chicken wing are not "ridiculous", they are founded, as the two actions were basically identical. And J-Mac wasn't "trying to assert dominance in the contest", he was flying the flag for his mate who was having his arm wrenched out of the socket deliberately.

For whatever reason Brad seems to be trying to be as deliberately non-confrontational in the media as possible. I hope it's different behind closed doors.

He loves to stick up for opposition players in the media for some reason.

This is perhaps due to the Fact that Selwood openly lied to the tribunal to get Boomer off.

I may not have worded that correctly. He is a good public speaker - all coaches usually are.

Brad Scott finds himself wording and being on the wrong side of the controversial debates that surround AFL every week. Even when people agree with his opinion, his wording and the way he presents his arguments make him sound immature. Chris Scott, although often having the same or similar opinion, is able to formulate his opinions without putting people off side.

so now we think Brad puts people offside, **** I want more of that.

or we start looking for a new coach.

As others have alluded to it seems that there have been some changes to approach from Bradley. Good to see. Lets see how well this takes.

Will the Fremantle board be consumed with a bye bye Lyon thread tonight, or do we have a monopoly on that type of idiotic vitriol?

False equivalence Board - they did not get flogged by the 18th side and do not have a problem with Jekyll and Hyde inconsistency

Its like parenthood - you are denying yourself a potent tool if you exclude fear as a motivator. Dropping blokes motivates up and comers in the seconds because they can see that non-performers are not super glued in the seniors and it shows the seniors that they are only one bad performance away from being in the magoos

Look at the way that Clarko and Horse go about it - they don't give a shit

I really enjoyed that Brad called out BT (not sure if it was intentional) for his spouting of the debutant facts in his Triple M interview yesterday. Always funny when BT is bought down a peg or two, especially after sitting through two hours of his commentating on Saturday night. :thumbsu:

Thinking about it now, does brad sit and listen to the TV commentary or did a media staffer advise him of it?

Getting so confused over this thread.

Good win. Coach actually does what everyone's been calling for.

People still complaining this time about some wording in an interview.

Jesus. If the Geelong win and the attitude of the players is something that's going to continue in the future brad can tell me unicorns are real for all I care.

Rather amusing that early on the big complaint was that brad was too good in the media and needed to focus more on the team and coaching. And now it's swinging that way people are even more pissed off.

Typical case of big footy stamping the papers on behalf of the club and being too stubborn to budge on their opinion..

Saintly one of the only ones able to express his opinion without desperate clinging to his past posts.

Good point. I'm guessing by that stage Brad would have seen the replay. I wonder if the coaches actually watch the TV coverage with commentary or focus solely on the clubs footage? He did say in the interview someone had told him, but it'd be interesting to know either way.

I just can't get a handle on him. He is all over the shop.
No wonder our players at times look like they have no ****ing idea out there. Id hope he is different behind closed doors and his media personona is just some weird attempt at being mystical or some shit like that.I don't know, I prefer a straight down the line, what you see is what you get type.
