Yeah. Players have nothing to do with it.

Where was he today when the going got tough?

Setting us up for the win.

If he wasn't hitting the score-board, he was working high up the ground and delivering lace out to others like Jack when the game was in the balance.

Do you remember the Geelong and Collingwood games last year? Pretty sure we beat them!
Ok then using that logic, do you remember the Port game last year? I think we beat them this year.

We have not gone backwards, yes you're frustrated but this thread is just plain bullshit.

I dont understand how its Scott's fault you lost the game in the last 5 minutes. Why didn't your players push for a lead and play keepings off for the last few minutes instead of bombing to a contest?
All reason goes out the window when we have close losses.

All Kanga supporters are disappointed with that loss - but the players and coaching staff will be shattered by this ... Instead of tossing in the towel true supporters should be getting behind the lads and fronting up next week. Surely the negative posters here dont think the lads are thinking "Oh well bad luck - that one got away". Be disappointed as the players know that was unacceptable capitulation but don't rub salt into their wound by kicking them when they are down!

Lose a close game once, shame on you. Lose a close game twice, shame on me. Lose 9 close games in the same fashion under the same coach, shame on every &^#$^& that thinks it's all roses and hey we are improving like the Doggies and 2 prelims with this group will be just dandy.

He is a great player development coach, he is a horrendous senior coach. Our window has now been pushed further back which is just as well, because according to you Scott lovers it's our senior players fault. Nothing better than to wait for Boomer, Petrie, Firrito, Thompson and Wells to retire before we make a push for the top 4.

We are the worst defensively coached team I can recall. No other good team in recent memory has such a horrid record in close games.
Who's responsible for getting us so far ahead in the games we have played this year?

I like Brad Scott because by and large he wears all the crap thrown at the club and protects the players. If anything some of the players should be concerned because some of them would have had their cards marked.

Also some of the more senior players have to stand tall.

I think I know why NMFC has such a small supporter base, most supporters/members ejaculate prematurely. We should be very proud of our team, we are creating history this season.

First team ever to start the season 1-4 and with a percentage above 100. And we didn't play Melbourne or GWS which make it an even more extraordinary achievement.

First team since 1926 to lose 4 games in the first nine rounds by under a goal.

Be proud everybody.
Be proud of losing?

I would have preferred us to have won all off but one game and have a percentage of 69% thank you very much. :stern look

I call it as I see it UYI. I don't have any agendas, I just love this club and vent an opinion to help soothe my disappointment or annoyance.

I think Scott's coaching this year has been very good but if I had one criticism it would be to drop a couple of seniors players but who do you replace them with? He's up against it for now.
That's half the trouble, replace them with who? They're kids.

Hi Mark,

I see you're new around here and no disrespect to yourself but that's the 4th time I've read a post like this this season, lets stick fat, get behind the players, don't kick em' when their down, yadda, yadda, yadda..

Well we've been doing that for the past 9 weeks and patience has finally run out I'm afraid. So when is the TEAM (coach and players) going to repay the faith to their supporters for sticking fat with them?

This is the 6th/7th? time in the two seasons we've been smashing a side in the final quarter only to be mowed down, which is either a huge sign of mental fragility or a serious flaw in our game plan.

We've done our bit as supporters by having their backs (i spent all week taking pineapples from Wet Toast supporters but defended our blokes to the hilt) so I don't blame supporters for venting one bit with the insipid performance dished out today.

All good to vent. Just like getting shit drunk we will all regret what we said/did when our heads sober up.

Some of you are just off your heads right now - looking at you Kangatime (although let's be honest you are an incomprehensible drunk most times).

We've improved in all aspects except the scoreboard. Almost there.

As someone mentioned earlier, I don't think its so much the coaching but his persistence to play out of form, or players who aren't up to the grade.

Please... We could have had Barrasi coaching yesterday and would have dropped the game, they ran out of legs after the Perth trip to last seasons top 4 team... Grow a set people and move on.

Yeah, nah they had a 9 day break. We need to stop making excuses and face some realities about some of our players.

bullshit. He had 11 possessions, most in the first half. LT an example of what Brad was talking about in the presser. Down hill ****ing skiing. He was unsighted in the last quarter, he is on of the players that cant put the foot on the throat. Not the only one but a perfect example.

1. Wright beat Thompson and then blazes away from 50 when clear to run into an open goal. End result, no score.
2. Wright wins possession from a pack on 50 at true CHF, swings onto his left and kicks quickly when he had more time to steady himself. End result, 1 point.
3. Black marks uncontested 35 out on a 45 degree angle, alters his kicking routine by rushing the set shot, kicks a point.
4. Boomer running into goal misses on the left from 35 out. One point.

If one or two of these 4 events resulted in a goal we would have won the game. To get into the position where a goal there would have put the game beyond doubt means that we would have been pretty happy with another solid win for our developing team. Instead these four events indicate a trend of missing opportunities in attack and here we are with a thread calling for the coaches head.

That though is a simplistic view. The above errors led to other structures (and brains) being put under pressure and exposed our soft underbelly for all to see. Again. These events were compounded by more glaring errors all over the ground which continue to happen when individuals are put under the pump.

Am I glad that we lost by a point after being 6 goals up, twice in the game? Nope. But I am glad we did not win by a point, or a goal, or two goals, after being in a strong position to win well. Maybe those 4 misses are a blessing in disguise because there is no hiding from the fact that some of our players cannot be relied upon to stand up when the pressure is really put on and there is now no hiding from the fact that the coaching staff are failing in their efforts to address this.

FFS we'd have been 5 freaking goals worse off without him!
Would you rather a 31 point loss?
Going to have to get off this site. The pile of spat dummies has reached halfway up the screen and it's getting too hard to read.

THE ONLY WAY WE'RE GONNA SHAKE THIS MONKEY IS HARD WORK......MIGHT AS WELL GET ALL OF THESE PAINFUL LOSSES OUT OF SYSTEM IN ONE WHOLE COLD HARD SEASON.

6 AM SWIMMING SESSION AT BRIGHTON BEACH TOMORROZ!! LET THE PLAYERS EXPERIENCE SHRINKAGE!!

More likely they'l organise a poker night then it'll be 9.30am sharp the next day for a etiquette and deportment session.
