Correct but Weller would be any easy option since he would obviously agree to be traded to his brothers club at the Saints. Saints are apparently getting Pick 14 out of the Carslie deal. We swap that for Weller and a later pick. 14 + Next year's 1st gets put on the table for GWS, we fold and add 22 if we get desperate.

Where are you getting this info from, why would he obviously agree to a trade, have you spoke to him ?

We are moving to brand new training facilities soon and a shiny new stadium, he might love it to bits here.

I got this from a friend of mine who is in the know. I'm not going to say anymore because I don't want to get him in trouble.
Okay thanks. But it's pretty important to know if they have been listening to offers.

Did we offer Barlow and it was rejected? If so, did GWS reject the offer because Barlow wasn't enough or because they are not interested in doing a trade?
Did they ask for Barlow and he or Freo said no? In which case they are interested in doing a trade, but the terms were too high.

I can understand that you can't say more. Just throwing it out there.

Everyone is just speculating, but we no that Blakely resigned mid year but no word on Weller. As I've previously said the last I heard on my grapevine is that he is waiting, his manager was a bit smarter than McCarthys. I believe he would like to stay but if he was willing to go and it meant getting McCarthy I'd do it.

I don't rate him but I would like him to come out of the blocks and impress me next year. I just don't think he's really that damaging as an outside and not to mention his attack between the sticks wasn't good at all in the seconds.

If he wants to stay then that changes my want to see him in our B22, although that's not really set in stone fact. I have other youngsters like Langdon and Grey in the side before him, although have him before Blakely.
Hang on. You rate Ballard and Silvagni highly but don't rate Weller? o_O

No I haven't spoken to him but it isn't much of a reach to imagine that he would like to play footy with his brother. A new club means a new contract so he would probably get signed up for another 2-3 years past his current deal.

I can understand him not wanting to go to GWS though hence haven't suggested it.

I'm hoping we've waited this long because Fremantle know McCarthy is 100% not going back over there to live so something has to be done for him regardless. This way we don't have to do the ridiculous overs that have been speculated. It's probably why GWS are scared of coming over here and seeing his family, they don't want to feel compassion for the first time.
I'm still skeptical if McCarthy would go back to Sydney if we can't get anything done for him. From what I've heard about GWS it's not the most professional of places, so he really could hate it that much

And that is why it shits me when his name is automatically thrown up as trade bait, poor kid is halfway through a contract and as far as i know has not expressed a desire to be traded.
Got it on good authority that whilst not requesting a trade, he did tell the club that he would be open to going home if the scenario presented itself in their trade negotiations.

My disappointment in Ballard being delisted doesn't mean I rate him higher, I rated Ballard equally among them. I never understood how Weller, Blakely and Langdon were all clear cut first choices before him.

Also never said anywhere Silvagni > Weller. No idea where that comes from.

To Free Cam you have to pay the bail. Pick 22 + next years 1st isn't enough. We need to throw in a player with currency and there don't appear to be many we can lose that won't impact our team next year. Weller has currency and is an option.

Ballard certainly ranked higher at peelthunder as he won the fairest and best.

But you have raved about them and said they both should be best 22 so you rate them.

But you don't rate Weller. Strange.

Mccarthy trade will eventuate. GWS played this same game last year
What do you think is fair for Weller?

Fair enough if he was asking for a trade but I'm sure the club have already said he isn't going anywhere.

We have a good culture of retaining players at the moment, i'd hate to wreck that buy offloading a potential gun just because he hasn't signed a new contract. He has an astute manager who might be waiting until the last minute to get the best deal for him.

Not long to go :thumbsu:
