To be fair, Mayne has really only had one or two seasons of accuracy in his goal kicking, with one exceptional year.
Before that, he was absolutely shizen in front of goal, especially right in front at close range. I'm not sure he can ever become consistent at goal kicking. He should be a depth player IMHO, unfortunately we are light-on for quality KP forwards. Hopefully he will prove me wrong and have a 50 plus year.

Yes his set shots in front of goal have been very disappointing this year, but he is a very good defensive forward , pressure type player. Easily best 22.

Seriously though if GWS want to be successful they need to target kids around that area and develop them. Target the Asian ones and make him good, build the marketing around him give people something to relate too.

I've told this story here before about how I became interested in AFL and follow freo. It's because of Peter bell. An Asian playing this game got my attention.

I didn't give a shit about NBA until Yao Ming came along. Us Asians just need someone to relate too. The only cool role models us Asians have is Bruce lee and his dead.

Stop targeting old washed up players from other clubs and actually do something that makes the club more relatable to their communities.
