Dogs and Swans are the 2 id be looking at that need some extra points.
26 and 31 respectively off the top of the head.

I'd be looking at Kaine Baldwin as a KPP in that range. Touted as a top 5 pick pre injury. Taking Polsons spot on the senior list. CHF as a junior but I reckon could have the makings of a very good CHB as a senior.

Then in the Rookie Draft take an 18 year 200+cm bean pole who can sit and develop for 3 - 4 years without any pressures taking Moore spot on the Rookie list.

Baldwin is a concern in a couple of areas, being undersize, no KPD formline and couple of bad, concerning knee injuries

Kouta was not an in between type. He was 6"3, raw but a known quantity because he came up through the Carlton U15s. I consider Bower, Russell, Bootsma flanker types as inbetweens, made worse in 2020 because recruiters have not seen them play.

To some people, 6'3 is an in-between type and whether he was a 'known quantity' is neither here nor there. My problem would not be either of those things but whether the player in question was a bit 'vanilla'. We don't want to go limiting the pool of talent in which we can choose from, not with our picks, so I'd be wanting our recruiters to back themselves in.

Maybe - with the players from the first batch who'll be out of our reach and priority - the question we first must ask is this:

What is our main positional priority and type of player that we should target at the draft?

I'm assuming we'll only take the one/two (max) live picks, with Gibbons an upgrade.

For mine:
- a ready-made pressure (specialist) small forward; and second
- a strong KPD with good character and some elite traits

Excellent post. Pretty sure the Suns have a free hit to list their academy boys so the picks may not be absorbed. However with their massive list needing to be reduced in size, they may not take more than pick 5 in the open draft (Davies and Jeffrey are "freebies")

I really hope clubs make those clubs with NGA kids pay fair price, particularly if those clubs have already traded down. Late picks in this draft are meaningless so those clubs have no other choice but to match.

Ah great minds. Must admit I jumped straight to the last page so didn't see any discussion prior. He's the type I want us to target with our first pick - even trade up using 48 - if its going to be our only one.

Little point jumping up to the first round, really - its all a crapshoot from 10-25 from my understanding.

With 10 sliding out 2 places, 48 and 78 coming in, would effectively rate Saad in the 18-20 range which would be at the mark
