Dude, as always I love these posts in that for the most part I wholeheartedly agree with your incisive insights - which makes the times I disagree with your assessments all the more stark. The Ian MacDonald of the board afaic
You’re looking at it very short term , we need danger in the middle more for the finals than right now , hence the long term plan of him playing forward durring the year and then ramping that up towards the finals …which I have mentioned previously.Dangerfield Centre Bounce Attendances (%) 2025.
21, 50, 65, 50, 32, 4, 21, 10, 6, 4 (inj), 6, 0, 8, 31.
Why worry about Dangerfield's mid time. It has been diminishing to afterthought levels since the early rounds.
You say my option has us playing a man down. We're playing a man down with him bumbling about giving halfarsed effort and not getting the ball or kicking goals.
As for the part about OH struggling with Danger in his way. The two games he missed 6 disp 1 goal, and 9 disp 2 goals.
Negligible difference to when he was there.
OH does not deserve to be anywhere near this side.Your weekly gripes about OH means you've just got to have at least one player to hang it on. He again showed some signs of what he can do, and tackling efforts suggest he is putting in. He may be down on what he can do, but many of us, including the coach and MC see that he is worth persevering with.

So if we need him for finals, which is entirely plausible. You’re looking at it very short term , we need danger in the middle more for the finals than right now , hence the long term plan of him playing forward durring the year and then ramping that up towards the finals …which I have mentioned previously.
We need a in form OH for finals for when JC and Danger are playing further up the ground
For the finals rather than right now ( I’ll keep repeating this as much as possible for you to grasp that)
Will OH get dropped ..prob but that doesn’t change the fact that we need a forward up there for the finals
It’s isn’t rocket science what the club is trying to do
It's fine to have whipping boys. It's fine to criticise players (I don't have Henry best 22 right now either) or the team. You'd think every now and again there would be some other talking point bordering on neutral or positive though. A sprinkle of balance. Most people have that balance. Just not all people. You seriously have to wonder about “Geelong supporters” who are trying so hard to be negative after a 12 goal win….
Thats bruise free footy for you.I didn't notice the umpires today that indicates they did a good job.More please.
Because it’s a very clear pattern with you where it’s all going the same way as your obsession with ParfittSo if we need him for finals, which is entirely plausible.
Then why the disharmony when we're arguing two sides of the same coin.
We need Dangerfield fresh for finals, we also need OH performing in September.
So why can't we call a spade a spade and state he's been poor, which is where this all started. 1 game day comment that he's being a passenger again.
Works hard for little reward but his decision making with ball in hand is ordinaryOH does not deserve to be anywhere near this side.
He's playing like a lead up mid who wants to get possessions.
We dont need him.

Easiest solution is play good footy.Because it’s a very clear pattern with you where it’s all going the same way as your obsession with Parfitt
Snapped my wrist on my left arm and ruptured a tendon on my right hand straight after the Sunday evening Eagles win a few weeks back and have not been able to type well over that time.
Nor was I particularly compelled to contribute over that period.
Post-bye though, it’s time to take stock as we consider mounting an assault on the 2025 flag.
All these soft wins against unserious teams like Richmond make it hard to guage just where we’re at - and it’s the same for every decent chance this year.
Regardless, I liked what I saw this evening.
George Stevens made quite an impression on debut.
Can he be more than GHS, more than Charlie Constable? Maybe. Great start, but then again I was pretty bullish on George H-S. Whatever; great game and he gave Tommy Atkins some much-needed assistance.
Brad Close’s game caught my eye tonight; I’ve seen very mixed views of his 2025 season on this board, and I don't necessarily disagree with that conjecture.
But I think he has been adapting to a post-Tom Hawkins forward line with intelligence.
Small and slight by AFL standards, Close nonetheless regularly finds himself in the role of lead-up forward conduit - it’s my contention that Close has been dilligently developing this aspect of his Forward line role.
Rarely wins an aerial contest in those outlet-contests. But I reckon he has learned to nullify them very effectively.
Tonight his game reminded me - a bit - of Paul Chapman’s pre-2007 role in Geelong’s forward line, minus the Alpha Male posturing, Great stuff.
Similarly, Zach Guthrie’s efforts in the D50 are starting to conjure comparisons to his 2000s #39 counterpart in Darren Milburn. Dasher was uglier and meaner - but who is the better contested mark, the better 1v1 player? Tight.
A Bailey Smith-less midfield only demonstrated just how much Gryan Miers generates in his role as a non-clearance-attending mid.
Miers linked up all over the ground and invariably gave those forward of the play a better than even chance of gaining possession.
4 Points.

Easiest solution is play good footy.
Barassi vs Gerard Healy comes to mind.
Sounds really nasty Cursed Cat. Wrists can be difficult when mending + tendons painful too. You were missed.
As you say “to gauge just where we’re at”. I believe Brisbane gave us something to think about, as we prepare for finals.
There were the highlights you mentioned. Close was in good form. A lovely compliment to favour him as Chappyesque.
Zuthrie is so dependable + consistent.
Miers was fantastic* + I think Bailey Smith should be traded at the end of the Season
It’s a season of changes + adaptations with Baz joining the midfield, Danger the forward line + missing a few backs from injury.
Some players are experiencing these changes more difficulty than others + we should be patient.
Danger was fantastic in the middle today.
Thought Stanley’s game was great, looks fit + lots of smiles. Enjoying his footy.
*I'll qualify: everyone had a shaky, fumbly start.
Thanks for another of your interesting + erudite contributions Cursed Cat.
During. I made a comment during the game. Footy games generally have good and bad moments, and then had that dragged here. And have been talking to you ever since.Easiest solution is to celebrate the positives of the club after a 12 goal win rather than focusing on the “whipping boys” but that’s just me

Yes. They were fantastic. Thought being at the game it was very well officiated. They weren't noticeable at all.I didn't notice the umpires today that indicates they did a good job.More please.
I'm dead.
Tigers board won't like this.
"
I think it was kind of, umm polite Fro Chris Scott to ask Geelong players to kick on their opposite foot for all game out of respect. You know, just so it wasn't a blow out.
But really, more percentage would have been nice."
Yeah nahPost #7 page 1.
Dragged from game day to here.

So many moments in the game where he was in the right spot and the ball was cut off or a poor kick or handball came his way.Your weekly gripes about OH means you've just got to have at least one player to hang it on.
