Missed the game, before I get the chance to watch the game what happened to Stanley and how long will he be out, how did Danger get 29 disposals (was he in the midfield more?) and where were Mannagh and Stengle playing tonight? In the Miers role or doing something different?

Lastly, with Miers certain to be back next week, who drops out for him?

Stanley pulled a hammy, Danger midfield at times, but went apeshit in the last, Mannagh everywhere man, probably closest to Miers role, Stengle HF. I suspect Wiltshire.

With under 5 minutes to go, Collingwood was able to get N.Daicos back on the field before we could sub Mullin back on

Next stoppage along the interchange wing, Mullin was able to come on and he immediately ran to the defensive side of the stoppage. Only then did he stop to find Daicos who was closer to Collingwood's 50m arc, and you could tell via eye contact with a teammate that the swap was on, so he ran to Daicos with a teammate dropping into that space

It's clear Mullin knew his role tonight and wasn't taking a step away from that as long as both him & Nick were on the field

I'm pretty sure I lip read Scott saying get Mullin on when it's 4 minutes to go.
Then again I was in a grip of seizure, so could have hallucinated him being so precise.
What a win, appreciate your observations at the ground.

Maaaaaate. Let it go.
You've harped on this ruck MSD for about 4 years now and we time and time again either pick no one or go nowhere near a tall player.

It's a weird hill you're on with this.
Mature rucks in the state leagues definitely feel like a mirage. All the good ones are already on an afl list

If we can beat GWS at home next week - which is usually a difficult proposition - we will have come through a tough opening run to the season in good shape, especially given our injuries.

6-3 with 7 games left at Geelong and a draw that opens up would be a great outcome.

This is where cashing in on home games is key though. We would waste last night's fantastic result if we lost to the Giants next week.

HUGE game coming up.

Not sure I completely agree here, although I expect the decent options to be gone before we could even pick.

Crossley would be an upgrade on what we have behind Stanley, hes arguably better than Rhys at this point in all honesty.

No list spot regardless and as much as they should I cant see us moving a guy like Guth to the inactive when hes building up training loads.

Crossley Essendon will pick up crossley most likely, but he wasn't overlooked in the ssp for no reason.

Crisp not cool enough to get his Hawkins moment.

How's Bailey's little drive-by towards the Dogs and Ballarat! 😂😂😂

F'n love it!

If Crisp kicked that, it would have been one of the moments of the decade. He really let himself down with that. It would have been a memory of a lifetime.

They would have talked about that play by play, not just at Collingwood (like how Geelong talk about the Hawkins one), but the entire AFL.

Lucky for us.

What a ****ing WIN

The song was more enthusiastic than I've heard in years.

Had a few calls go our way (about time!) and a few that didn't (surprised to see Daicos get a 50 paid against him)

Collingwood are definitely going to have a spack about the umpires.

Dangerfield was beyond human. Absolutely incredible effort.

Hats off to Mannagh, Dempsey, and Mullin.

David King crying about the umpires
Daicos should have given away two 50s. He dives on top of Mullin earlier after Mullin is paid a high free kick from a tackle from another player. You can do that. Umpire calls it, Daicos realises and just drops onto him.

Especially not with all the suspension rules softening up the game now. Danger is just a beast.

MOC was brilliant but that last contest with mihocek he had to get 3rd man in (do did sdk). Nearly cost us the game as did blitz not handing the ball to baz with 5 secs left.
Loved how Danger bullied Maynard. And Maynard complains to the umpire. He does far more aggressive things to players.

That would've been Collingwood's greatest H&A moment of the AFL era.

David king arguing it was the right call due to “spirit of the game”… talk about someone who shouldn’t be allowed to commentate geelong games
The umpires definitely hurried the game up in the end to give Collingwood a chance.

That ruck holding the ball was 50/50 and wouldn’t have been paid if it was 10 mins into the first quarter.

They could sense a good game and fairytale finish too.

It wasn’t like they were actively working to help one team. There were moments when both teams had it go their way.

Erasing the last 3 minutes, what a last quarter. Like everyone before that it was hands in lap and thinking the pies by how much, when Stanley was subbed early.
To grind and grind and stay in the game was so inspiring. And the stat that fox footy brought up at 3 1/4 time was our last quarters, we come home. PFD you star, Bailey Smith...wow i didn't realise how damn good he is! And he's infectious. Bring on our bogey side in Gws, hopefully with Miers and Kolo back possibly. Sounds like Jack might be held back a few more weeks with that soft tissue injury. #GeelongStrong

Great to see Dekoning taking plenty of intercept marks again, also had a cool head getting it out of D50
Please keep him there, Blitz can be ruck/back up ruck

We did we had about 5 back but they were 30m out not expecting the ball to drop that short. We need to scenario train that one. To be fair off a 6 day break and having to use the sub in the first quarter we were always going to tire late.
That ball dropped so short that Crisp had to full on dive to get it. Even Collingwood didn’t plan for that.

Lmao he's really putting a target on his back for that dogs game isn't he. Not that I care.
He doesn’t care either.

See him get into Maynard during the game? And when he ran off after their little push and shove, Baz wasn’t angry - he was laughing and rubbed Maynard’s head. Confused the hell out of Maynard.

What is our record like over the past 20 odd years for games decided after the siren? Feels like whether it is us with the shot, or the opposition we win them all.

I think we lost one where Hawkins kicked a point in the rain against GWS. That’s the only one that comes from mind.

Collingwood in 2022 would have a few after the siren wins I think.

I wonder if, after another 8 clearances (more than Daicos or anyone else), this is the game everyone realises Mannagh is one of our key midfielders.

Doesn't go to centrebounces much but in every other situation he's been a midfielder through and through the past 4 or 5 games.

Besides getting run down (tripped!) late, he was very important in wrestling back control around stoppages.

Hard, tough and knows where the goals are, difficult to believe he was overlooked for so long.

The kind of leadership that makes every teammate lift
Danger is demonstrating the kind of leadership that makes your spirits rise just watching the game as a supporter, let alone being out there in the heat of battle with him leading the way.

Will rightly go down as a legend of our club and would love to see him cap a remarkably consistent and committed career with us by lifting the cup before he hangs them up.
