Going with one spinner in a subcontinental tournament seems strange to me. Also going very batter heavy, only 5 specialist bowlers, even if it's stacked with A/R's. I would have changed:

In: Connolly, Agar, Kuhnemann
Out: Stoinis, Ellis, Hardie

No offense to Ellis but I don't think you need a fourth front line seamer in Pakistan/UAE

The media reckons that if Cummins is ruled out, then Webster might be the replacement. Not knocking Webster, but huh?
Maybe because of flexibility to be an extra pace or spin option?

ODIs in Pakistan since they started playing matches there again:

Pace: 211 wkts @ 36.04, econ 5.86
Spin: 133 wkts @ 43.79, econ 5.54

The pitches don't turn for ODIs. They're just flat.

We're just off the back of a successful World Cup in the subcontinent where we went 3 quicks + Zampa + 10 overs of all rounders (mostly Maxwell). No need to change it.

Fair enough, thought it would have been the opposite

Marcus Stoinis in ODI cricket since Jan 2019: 43 innings, average 19.84, strike rate 90.31. Last ODI 50 was 6 years ago. Woweee.
Australia have never won an ODI in which Stoinis has made 50+ (7 losses) so Stoin is just ensuring we don't lose.

Didn't we win the '23 WC in India with just Zampa?
