he hasn't done much there so far. I don't understand our plan with him. Are we trying to turn him into a Sicily-type, minus the moaning?
HBF is purely a confidence building exercise. The ball is infront of you the whole time and worst case if you're lost, grab an opponent to follow. It's all about trying to get him to the level, unfortunately at the detriment of adding another defensive liability to our back line...but long term gains

Payne out????

There were tears of joy 4 days ago across the NM fan base when he was selected to make his debut!!!!
Maybe give him more than 4 quarters to decide whether he fits.

I thought he competed quite well. Dropped a few difficult lead up marks but was leading (which is something our forwards loathe to do).

Would rather Harvey play sub.

Please, God, when will it click? We must be the absolute masters of making sure our ”passes” bounce at the most inopportune spot in front of their intended target. In turn, the ball bounces off our player directly to the opposition every, single, time. The Colby “pass” to LDU, which ended up in a Toby goal exemplified this best. It seems like all other teams just stand off our players, knowing the ball is going to deflect off their flailing bodies. Add to that, our total inability to kick the ball to our leading players’ advantage. It’s almost uncanny.
My kingdom for a f*cking clean ground ball get!

What a time to be alive.

I can barely contain my excitement at getting to learn whether we finish in the bottom two for the sixth year in a row or if we climb to the lofty heights of third last.

I am a ball of nervous energy just thinking about it.

I’ve never been so disinterested in attending a Nth game in my life, locked it in a few months ago. Think I’ll start drinking early to get some enjoyment out of the day. Rebuild is a disaster, recruiting rejects doesn’t work, good players are not coming to Nth under FA. Handing out 4 yr contracts to VFL player has to see some dominoes start to fall?
I'm going as well. Going to be 12 degrees at game time. Should be epic.

So the same temp as Melbourne then?
Yeah, the thing Australians have about Hobart weather (or Tasmania in general) is bizarre. Where I live is on average about 3 degrees colder in winter than Hobart and I can’t ****ing wait till it comes tbh. A shitload better than 37 every day and 28 every night which is what it is now (and is for at least 3 months straight).

I left a beautiful part of Australia cos of the bolded, plus the 80% humidity. That kills you. It never stops raining there anymore either. Was talking to a mate up there on Monday and he said he's moving cos his place hasn't dried out for years. It basically hasn't stopped raining since late 2020. There's not dry/wet season anymore. Just wet seasons and a few sunny days every six months.

I grew up in Hobart. It was generally always milder (ie cooler during the day, warmer at night) than Launceston, further North. Only a degree or two but it was pretty noticeable on the weather report every day.

Then we moved to Melbourne and everyone went on and on about how cold Tassie was. Melbourne actually felt colder. Especially in winter. Shitloads hotter too in summer as well. The Northern Coast of Tassie is pretty nice compared to that.

My bro lived in Kyogle for a time about 30 years ago. As you say, an incredibly beautiful place. I have a bit of ptsd about it though from getting lost on a mountain road in a ****ing shit box car in pouring rain for about 6 hours. Still gives me the shivers.

Edit: In reply to ferbs above.
