Hopefully he hasn't lost his touch after missing 3 weeks.
He was carrying a knee issue which the break has done wonders for.
As has his thumb concern.

The suspension sucked but allowed his body to reset.

I think he will kill someone early on if he's not careful

I want him to cut someone in half.

so is daicos

No he’s not. Don’t conflate Inside mid = tough. Outside mid = soft.

Inside mids are just the followers (centre, rover and ruck rover in the old language)

Daicos is indeed a bit soft and doesn’t enjoy contact - but he’s still a clearance and contested ball winning machine. Does it through superior reading of the ball, timing, running patterns, balance and speed/quality of disposal before being tackled.

Cunnington did it very differently - won contested ball through quality reading of play, toughness, sheer body strength (players hanging off him), poise and balance in traffic and superior hands and vision.

Judd did it through superior speed, power and strength and a deadly and powerful step / lateral movement. When LDU is on, he’s this kind of midfielder too.

There’s different ways to win a contested footy or clearance.

Outside footy (wingers and back flankers primarily) is about getting free on the spread to provide an option, running and carrying, speed of ball movement, delivery and decision making inside fifty etc. It’s a different skill set but it doesn’t follow that all inside players are tough and all outside players are soft.

Of our wingers Scott is in horrible form and Stephens is in great form. I think there’s a wing role up for grabs for whoever wants it.

Changes aren’t like for like meaning we’ll need to structure differently.

We lose the wing and the sub. Replaced with a forward and a cat.

Probably a bit half forward heavy.

Fisher needs to be sub.

Corr still playing is a problem. We wear 2-3 dumbshit things for every half ok thing he does.

Doesn’t kill the ball consistently

Leaves his man and doesn’t impact the contest too often.

I’m aware there’s f*** all behind him right now. We’ll be better collectively when he’s replaced and they replacement has a run of games into form.

Wellsy tended to overkick it and it would miss the leading target. Shannon Grant, Craig Scholl, Phil Krakouer, Adrian McAdam, Winnie I think were all better kicks. Carey was superb and easily the best wet weather kick I have ever seen. Didn't see enough of Blight, Schimma or Grieg to remember but I hear they were pretty good.
Some great kicks there. Don’t forget Schwatta, his left foot was lethal

Remember that game when G. Archer had missed heaps of weeks for mighta been his hand?? idr, but then when he got the footy for the 1st time, the commentator gave it "Archers' got the footy, now he's looking for someone to tackle him" or summat like that. Was exactly like he was running at blokes ...
