I suggest you watch the replay.

The majority of Carlton’s score was from our fu**ups, not any exciting fast attacking footy.

McGovern was actually better for them when he went off, because another player got to come on and replace the spud.

If he was the messiah you are claiming him to be, they wouldn’t have just scraped over the line against us, especially with all the errors we made on the weekend.
Who's watching a replay of that dross? I could barely get through it the first time. My eyes have only recently stopped bleeding.

We'll probably pick the kid who was amazing in 2019, but spent all of the 2020 lockdown getting on the bongs.....

I'd usually be horrified as not my thing, but on our recent drafting history of "good blokes" it may just be what we need!!

Rodney on a roll. Never seen him this upset.

One things for sure, 20 years has flown and the false hopes in that time are tragic.
So then you agree with me? I said we've not seen success in over 20 years, this year will be another write off, and now we're almost rock bottom.

But you just got through telling me how exciting Carlton was to watch?
They were.

Us, not so much.

And I'm not tipping into "they only beat us by a goal" folly. The scoreboard flattered us, they had more shots and should have won by more.

If you're accepting of the decisions being made by the power brokers at Arden Street, then that's on you.
Me, I have higher expectations of this once great club that hasn't seen success in over 20 years, currently has the unenviable record of the longest GF drought, and is about to endure another year without finals.

Oh no, ACCEPTING MEDIOCRITY!! talk has begun 😳

Be careful, it is highly contagious. It has an R0 of 18.

Lock us down mods. No Shaw talk for two weeks.

Interesting you think the scoreboard faltered is.....didn't Goldie miss from directly in front and then I'm sure we missed another sitter 1st quarter and then jmac handballed it straight to newnes and then pittard stupidly reversing Polec kick on goal so there's 4 goals.... without mentioning pittards simple chest mark dropped on the 50....

One change I would like to see if tactically.

I would like to bring in Majak for the third tall but this works with just Brown and Larkey. One of the bigger guys cannot go past the forward edge of the centre square when the ball is in our defensive third. No rolling up with the defenders, just plonk yourself in our third. And in addition, I want a small goal side of centre square as well. It opens the field up a little which means in some way both sides can make use of it but means we could actually score on the spread.

In addition, a kick does not need to be in the air. Instead of a 45-50m kick in the air, we could cover 60-70m rolling it on the ground. Coming out of defence, lets make a little chaos.

This would mean that every time we tried to rebound Adelaide would have two spares on their half-forward line picking off the ball. It's a nice idea but we don't have the kicking skills or line breaking abilities to avoid spare footballers like that.

If they don't re-align, then it means 34 players in one third, not 36. If you setup correctly, I don't see why the extra two players even matter. I would try it as it isn't like we have a lot going for us at the moment.

I've wanted to win every game so far this year. Dejected when we haven't even if I knew we were pus heading into the match.

This week, don't know what to wish for.

It would be a very North Melbourne phenomena to look like minor premiers this week.

North by 450 pts.
I still want to win. If nothing else, I want it for my kids, who have been very dejected about footy for a very long time now...

I also will want to win on game day, I'll be cheering us on, but I'll also know that's my heart speaking, not my head.

Winning and jumping 3 spots on the ladder potentially is an f*ing disaster for us if we ever want to work our way up the ladder again. We need to bottom out properly and we need "Go Dees" to have a huge run of injuries and sh*t the bed so their first round pick becomes a top 5 one. Two picks inside the top 5 will get me more excited than a meaningless win over Adelaide.

I don't think there are any positives of winning this game. If we win, we will rise up the ladder by a little bit, hurting our draft selections, while also not being able to contend for finals. That imo is what has kept us in mediocrity for a long time. This is exactly why I don't care whether we win or lose this game and expect that the kids play some nice footy for the rest of the season.

Brain fade aside, Pittard actually did a ripper job on Docherty

Yes he gives his all plays with heart so sometimes you will get a few brain fades/break in concentration like he did sat with the push and easy mark... I'm for the same walker and murph in for the aforementioned outs... also wouldn't mind Bonar back but in the middle not hb
