Khamis should be out, but with a backline that lumbering we really need that last forward slot to be filled by him so we have the option to swing him back for Lobb if we're not getting enough mobility down back.
We also need someone that can play backup ruck. Lobb is clearly the best suited but very rarely does a defender head onto the ruck.

Buku will be thrown to the wolves in that role as he has before.

I think the key is that all of these guys can be moved during a game. Lobb, JOD & Buku have enough experience at both ends, that any move in game wouldn’t be ‘desperate’ but based on logic.

I wouldn't be too concrete about figuring out who will play forward. I anticipate Bevo would be willing to change who plays up forward anyway if what we start with doesn't work.

Yeah sounds like Jones might be the one making way for Buss and not a re-shuffling for Darcy. May go a little smaller with Cleary as 3rd tall then or alternatively smaller up forward with Poulter / Kennedy as 3rd tall if JOD or Khamis stays back.

JOD looks like he will be second ruck this week.

Good news on the Buss. Been dominating VFL for a long time so hopefully gets a decent stint to acclimatise in the ones

Presume they'll keep Lobb back to start but don't have a lot of confidence in the Khamis/ODonnell double threat up forward. Think they'll swing Lobb forward at some stage

If only 1 in 5 KDs competition wide were faster than him I guess I could live with that.
He's quicker than Sam Collins. Maybe on par with Weitering.
If we're throwing him onto Jesse Hogan on debut I'd be worried. Reports of Jones being dropped.

Perhaps JOD to Hogan?

The only one I can find mentioning Jones dropped is Jay Clark and it seems more like him hypothesising.
If a tall does get dropped I'm guessing it would be Khamis with Poulter the replacement going off of training.
JOD seems to have been switched back to that fwd/ruck role.

This would make the most sense.
Having Jones on Hogan, Lobb & Buss on the other talls. With JOD up forward.

Not sure if Khamis keeps his spot. May do for flexibility purposes. I think he is lucky that GWS have a tall set up.

Khamis is one of the quickest of our talls so it makes sense to have him on the bench playing whichever end needs some extra pace.

I’m happy to ride THE BUSS This week! Have a feeling he’ll be one of those oddball players that develop easier at AFL level than In the seconds. But we must remember he’s not the saviour messiah of this backline, at least not yet anyway.

Buss has a great intercept game. However, the deficiencies in his game continue to concern. Last week for example, there were multiple instances where he turned the ball over clumsily. These mistakes went unpunished due to the quality of the opposition. But against Greene? Hogan?

He also has the Caleb Daniel Yips, often halting ball movement for the perfect kick down the line that never comes. A frustrating part of BEVOBALL footy that we’ve luckily moved on from, for the most part anyway.
